Like most of us, IKEA has a true place in my heart. It’s one of the only non-thrift stores I could afford in my 20s and early 30s, and yet I still get a burst of dopamine wandering through their aisles. As a Scandinavian design lover through and through, they check all the boxes for me and man, they do such a great job of design-forward pieces that are so simple (and therefore timeless). On a recent trip, I bought a few things that I loved (and saw so many pieces that I didn’t need but wanted to call out).

SKOGSKOVALL King Bedspread – $90
Obviously, this bedspread sang to my Boro-loving heart. It looks so high-end and handmade, but it was under $100 for a king-size. It lives on my bed now (new bedroom reveal coming soon!).

HÖSTGENTIANA Full/Queen Duvet Cover And Pillowcases – $30
Plaids are SO HARD to get right. They can look so “little kid,” or just 80s in a bad way fast. This one felt fresh and sweet, with crisp colors in my perfect colorway. I bought it for Charlie’s bedroom (there might be a big old bed swap coming soon – Charlie wants Elliot’s bed, Elliot wants Charlie’s Ikea bed so she can recover it in purple fabric – I told them both we’d talk about it this summer).

STOCKHOLM 2025 Table Lamp – $80
This is the most perfect TV-watching lamp because there is zero light leak that can be distracting in a dark room. It’s like a huge nightlight with the warmest glow. It doesn’t provide a lot of light, so it’s not meant to help reading, but it’s perfect for a nighttime ambience that you just leave on.

KUDDLAVA Table Lamp – $18
$18 for such a great sculptural lamp!!! We had a project that we were going to put that lamp and the one below in (and that project is on hold, so we’ll see), but it’s such a cool lamp for under $20. It’s on the smaller side, FYI.

VINDKRAFT Table Lamp – $40
This is another super affordable one that looks so expensive. Now paper lamps like this tend not to give off even light; most of it is downcast, so it’s great for a certain type of ambience. But I just think it looks artistic and high-end, despite being so affordable.

FENGÖMMARE Coffee/Tea Spoon (Set of 2) – $10
These spoons are so fun, cute, and perfect for my coffee bar inside our pantry. I don’t know how things are made this cheaply (it’s real glass!), but I’m grateful for it.

FLODNEJONÖGA Spoon (Set of 3) – $6
Definitely didn’t need these wooden spoons, but that shape is perfect, and in my cart they went.

VINDSIKT Dustpan and Broom – $25
This was a big need as our kitchen broom was plastic and ugly. So this broom and dust pan live in our pantry now, and are what we pull out mid-week between deeper cleanings.

KLOKHET Unscented Taper Candle (Set of 8) – $7 | TURTURDUVA Candlestick Holder – $4
So sweet and perfect for spring. Each taper comes in under $1, so just in case you are doing an evening Easter feast, these are great. The sweet little candlestick holders are folksy and Scandi in the most perfect way.
Since I clearly couldn’t buy everything I loved, here’s a little round-up of some other pieces:)

SOLUPPGÅNG Plate | SPJUTLILJA 3-Piece Serving Set | SILVERSIDA Deep Plate/Bowl
IKEA’s dinnerware is truly so good! I love all of these for different reasons. But if I needed outdoor plates and bowls, I’d have my eye on those enamel ones.

OMMJÄNGE Pitcher | SPJUTLILJA Spice Mill (Set of 2)
How good are both of these? That pitcher is so pretty and also comes in cups and bowls! And wow, those graphic spice mills are awesome.

VÄLVÅRDADDish Towel (Pack of 4) | LYCKAD Baking/Serving Dish (Set of 2)
Striped and fringed kitchen towels? Yes, please. A steal for about $2 a pop. Then I love how pretty and functional those dishes are.

DOFTRIPS Plant Pot | HASSELBUKETT Plant Pot
Both of these are under $15! The colors are neutral, but the shapes are cool and fun. 10/10.

MÅBÄRSBUSKE Plant Pot | DOFTRIPS Watering Can
In case you haven’t heard, it’s time to be thinking about your outdoor spaces. Planters are something I use all of the time, but so often they are expensive… especially the big ones. This one is just $50! And you know I love a pretty watering can. And an affordable one is even better.

OMMJÄNGE Basket | CHOKLADHAJ Food Storage Box (Set of 2) | TRÖSKNING Bin With Lid
Another thing IKEA is great for is cute storage. I love how big but fun that woven basket is. It’s got personality, you know? Then for stackable storage (espeically in a panty) how sweet and simple are those wooden crates? Finally, this is cheating a little because I have those blue bins in my prop garage but I love them so they needed to be included.
OK, that’s my current IKEA review. I love shopping there. The design is so good and the prices can’t be beat. Do you guys have any favorites? Let me know. xx
