If anyone has been shopping for furniture, then we don’t have to tell you it’s NOT CHEAP. Between tariffs, materials costs, etc., finding “affordable” pieces can feel like a treasure hunt where you aren’t sure there will actually be treasure at the end. However, the desire to make our homes feel cozy, beautiful, and collected doesn’t just stop. To help with your treasure hunt, we’ve found the best affordable furniture (for current market pricing) that will also get to you in time for the holidays, if that’s what you are hoping for. These are the staple pieces for the most common rooms, but if you are looking for more niche items or decor pieces, the stores we pulled from are going to be your best bets (Wayfair, World Market, Article, etc). Let’s dive right in!

Sofas

Clearly, we have to start with sofas because that’s where so much life happens!

One little hack to always remember is that sometimes a sofa will come in a color that’s more discounted, like this beautiful navy sofa! It’s VERY hard to come by a good sofa under $1000, and this one in other colors is $300 more. It has great reviews, too! Living Spaces is another brand we firmly stand by, and this white sofa is simple but not boring, and the reviews are also really good.

If you have a little more in your budget, all three of these are so good style-wise. Want modern traditional? The white IKEA slipcover is a no-brainer. Emily has had the green sofa in the sectional version (and in gray) and loved it! Now, we never ordered furniture from Quince, but the style, color, and price of that brown sofa are very good, and the reviews are all 5 stars.

Now, for a little more dough, you could have one of our amazing Barb sofas in your living room! This color is currently more discounted, but Emily just shot it in her living room for fun (coming at you soon) and doesn’t know if she wants to take it back. It’s made in the USA, comfortable, and the fabric is so good. Then we wanted to give you at least one leather option, and this sofa from Article is one we’ve used many times in many projects, so it’s a winner in our book.

Sleeper Sofas

Especially with the holidays coming up and guests coming to stay, here are our sleeper sofa finds…

Affordable (good) sleeper sofas are hard to find, and especially under $1,000, but these two are great. We love the richness of that blue velvet. It looks so inviting, right? Then the beige one is another simple but not boring IKEA sleeper sofa we are fans of. Both of these sofas have other color options, too!

Well, how cool is that double cushion sleeper sofa?! Chic, looks comfy for regular sitting, and comes in LOTS of different fabrics. We can’t guarantee that all of the fabrics will get to you by the holidays, so definitely check on that. The same goes for the other one! Both are from West Elm (trusted brand), lots of fabric options, and super beautiful.

Last but not least is this really pretty sleeper sofa from Article. Again, it’s a brand we’ve been working with COUNTLESS times, and their quality is so incredible for the price. We love the modern traditional style of this one, but also that it’s incredibly versatile style-wise.

Accent Chairs

Moving right along, let’s talk about accent chairs. Maybe you like your sofa/don’t want to replace it, but need a cool accent chair that will mix up, add more seating, and/or make your space feel new. Let’s go.

An easy color that still feels neutral is, of course, green. Especially an olive-toned green. This faux sherpa cutie is a great and really affordable option to add a punch of color that won’t overwhelm your room. But if you want more of a lounger (that also swivels AND comes with an ottoman!), this leather one is perfect. Plus, all of the reviews are great.

Two chairs for our light-toned neutral colors! Ugh, the elegance of that slope arm glider is so good. But for some fun texture, the woven detail on the other chair is fun without being “too much”. Organic modern style, delivered.

The pricing here gets a bit higher, but we think they could be worth it as long as it’s within your budget. That brown chair has been around for a minute, but we still love the traditional twist it would give to a room. Those arms are sick. Then, for a cozy swivel, with a color punch, how good is that modern wingback??

Speaking of wingback chairs, this blue one from Article is beautiful. Modern but really versatile. Plus, the color variation in the fabric would be so forgiving to those accidental spills. Then this rust velvet chair is extra on sale at the moment, so grab it if it would work in your space! It’s elegant, simple, and that color is so fun.

Coffee Tables

Let’s talk about our main coffee table rule in case you are curious about sizing:

Your coffee table should be at least half the length of your sofa (but no more than roughly ⅔ the length) and should sit at about the same height as the seat, give or take 4 inches. Hope that was helpful. Let’s go shopping!

Under $200 for a new coffee table is a steal, and if they are as cute as these, sign me up! Personally, I’m a huge fan of a nesting or coffee table set, especially for a narrower room. Those wooden, round black ones would work with almost any style. The brown MCM vintage-inspired one is so cute AND has some great storage. Then, if you are looking for some material mixing, the round stone and wood one is actually perfect.

Calling all organic modern lovers, both of these are perfect for you (but also anyone, really). If you want more of a natural/warm wood look, the rectangle one is perfect. But if you want to lean more modern, the oval-shaped table is equally as wonderful (and cheaper;)).

Ugh, all of these are modern and chic and almost moody? It’s more that they would just add a lot of visual depth to a room. The tones are darker, and the details are interesting but not overpowering. Love all of these.

Media Consoles

Most people have a TV in their living room, which usually begs for a great media console. These are our affordable favorites.

Getting a large piece like this for under $250 is pretty awesome. They all have that ever-important visual texture and lots of storage. The light wood one is great if you want a decent amount of open and closed storage, the black one is ideal if you don’t, and the walnut one is in between!

But if you want to up the texture, this caned door one is so pretty and comes in a bigger size. Emily used the open shelf one in her brother’s river house living room as a bench, and it looks so awesome!

These prices are only slightly higher, but boy, are they pieces good. The simplicity yet chunkiness of the Leif media unit is so pretty. Then we can’t get over the fun detail of the mid-century one. Looks much more expensive than it is. Finally, here’s another pretty caned door option! The tone is softer than the less expensive one, and we love the legs.

Nightstands & Side Tables

The great thing about a nightstand or side table is that, depending on your needs, they can be interchangeable! Let’s take a look.

If you’re looking for something a little unique, this round end table (WITH A CHARGING STATION) could be for you. Plus, it has a lot of storage space, and those ball feet are to die for. But for a slammin deal and a classic style, this set of MCM nightstands is for you.

Now these are true side tables, but for a guest room where the person may not really need storage, these are so chic and affordable. Did you notice that the stone base table has a wooden top?! We are impressed.

Modern beauties, if you will. Both the black and wood ones are from Article, and they are the perfect modern pop you might need to make your space feel fresh. But if you have been looking for a modern, burgundy nightstand/side table, we LOVE this one.

Beds

Feeling rested and happy in your space starts with your bed (or at least that’s what we think:))…

We’ve seen this upholstered bed in person, and it’s beautiful. We still can’t believe it’s such a great price. And then you know we are fans of the spindle bed, and for under $350, this one can’t be beat.

Have you been looking at Lulu & Georgia beds but can’t get past the price tag? Well, these two are very much in the same vibe and look really wonderful.

We are very into this type of arched headboard, and that color fabric is stunning, right? But if you are more into a wood bed, we love this solid wood, fluted headboard and base.

Dressers

Now for the other hero in a bedroom…the dresser.

These prices are truly wild, especially for the 12-drawer dresser! That’s a lot of space for all of your beautiful pieces of clothing:) But if you don’t need that much space, the 4-drawer “tall” dresser is so pretty and textured.

For a lot of storage but in a medium wood tone, how good is that 9-drawer dresser? Not intro hardware? The Scandi 4 drawer and the modern dresser clearly deliver on that, and they both look so good. Also, the wood grains are extremely pretty.

Those skinny legs on that tall dresser (plus the caned fronts) make it a total showstopper. The smaller, classic dresser is perfect for a small space or a guest room (since they don’t need as much storage). The walnut dresser is the epitome of a modern traditional style, and we LOVE it.

Cabinets And Bookcases

Let’s hop out of bed (and the bedroom) and focus on more storage for almost any space…bookcases and cabinets.

We have a real soft spot for tambour doors, and the brown cabinet uses it perfectly. A great amount of open storage and just enough closed with that beautiful material. The small cabinet is one we’ve also seen in person, and it’s as cute as you’d imagine it to be. This arched cabinet, though…it’s incredible. It’s giving deVOL, and those drawers on the inside make it look so expensive.

All three of these are winners. Look at the turned wood detailing! Or the curved closed storage in the last one. The tall, plain one has a beautiful wood grain and is modern but not sterile!

Most expensive? Yes. Still a great deal and also so beautiful? Also, yes. The shelving unit is clearly perfect for displaying all of your collected treasures (something I have almost too much of!). The white cabinet also offers lots of display potential, but because there are doors, it’s a little more discreet. Finally, the caned arch cabinet is just really special with that wonderful mix of open and closed storage.

Dining Tables

And since the holidays are very meal-focused, here are some great dining tables!

That light wood, modern farmhouse table is amazing! And it is only $200? WHAT!? If you need a table and this one fits your style, BUY NOW. The black one also kind of has a modern farmhouse vibe, but is also really versatile. Then the other brown wood one reminds us of the one from the photo above! Just more affordable:)

Going up a little in price, this round one is extendable! It goes from a 4 seater to a 6 seater, a small-space dweller’s dream. For the other table, we really liked the modern style with those special little details. 10/10.

For my traditional lovers who want a chunky table, this pedestal one is great. It’s not huge (fits 4 chairs), but it’s really elegant. The other table is basically a shape shifter! This table would look great in any home.

Dining Chairs

Tables need chairs, right? Let’s make sure we tend to that.

We love this blue color, and it feels like it would be pretty forgiving to spills. Always important…especially with kids:) If you love a vintage caned dining chair but they are too pricey, this one is a great alternative. But for the easiest to clean and most affordable chair, these curved back ones are the way to go.

We really love this Ulka chair. It’s simple, chic, but also welcoming, if that makes sense? It comes in other colors, too! For a really modern look, these green velvet chairs are very luxurious!

You’ve made it to the last section:) That rust colored chair is really good. We love that the upholstery extends on the sides for a fun detail. The light wood one is a total classic. It will never go out of style. Then the black spindle one is a twist on a different classic we also love! It’s really good.
