Every year I swear I’m going to be one of those people who can shop the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale early, and every year I forget to until the week before. So the day that it was all set out for the members to shop I snuck in and tried on a bunch of stuff that I had already put in my wishlist. Now the sale can be overwhelming and in case you don’t know – it’s not a sale of stuff they need to get rid of, a lot of it is extreme discount on new fall stuff – the good stuff. So if you are in the market here is what I found and love (with a couple things that I’m trying to resist buying for myself).

Incredible jeans that I wear all the time because they are comfortable, cool have the perfect length and wash. I’m not alone. The reviews are incredible. A few months ago when I was at Nordstrom, the sales lady put these in my dressing room and said “everyone loves these, you have to try them” and she was not wrong. There are a ton more jeans from this brand on sale too right now – you can shop all the Mother jeans on sale here.

Jeans | Sandals | Grey T-Shirt
I’ve been wearing AG boyfriend jeans since I could afford them. They are such a great wash and shape (especially for those of us who look best in a slimmer profile jean). These are more mid-rise than the famously low boyfriend jeans but so so good. Size down on these. I’m wearing a 26 and am usually between a 27 – 28.

Jeans | Sandals | Grey T-Shirt
For a cool loose and structured shape, these from Pistola are so good. They hit right at the ankle and have a flattering waist.

For the baggier fans, Free People knows how to do it. These jeans give carpenter and are long, for sure, but if you like a bigger pant they are great.
Here are a few other great pairs from the sale! Clicking on the picture will take you straight to them 🙂

Another pair of AG jeans that are awesome (same version, but different wash). The blazer feels like a great add to elevate an outfit like this, or if you work in an office obviously it would come in handy. Comes in brown tweed and a navy plaid. Wearing a small and it has room.

Flattering, pretty details and easy to wear – this dress is from Reformation (which is a brand that tends to not look good on me – so tight and body-con). But this dress is so pretty. Size up – I’m wearing a 6 here and so it’s definitely on the smaller side.

Denim Jacket | Hat (similar) | Jeans
I was surprised at how much I loved this basic jean jacket. The shape and tailoring are excellent with enough stretch to be really roomy and comfortable.

The viraly famous darted barrel pant comes in this brown now which is great for fall. Here I’m wearing a 25 which is too small for my comfort, so if you want it to sit more on your hips get your normal size or one size down (not two). The sweater is great for fall and I wish I had sized up to a medium – this is a small and it fits but I always tend to like cardigans more oversized.

I thought I’d try out the fancy waxed canvas rain jacket trend. I mean, they are awesome and cool and extremely timeless. Splurgy so this is a great time to buy.

I’m a MASSIVE Varley fan. My goodness their fabrics are unbelievable and the construction is tailored and comfortable. Expensive for athleisure but totally worth it IMO.

The softest short sleeve sweatshirt that would also be really cute layered over a long sleeve top. The track pants aren’t on sale which I was bummed about – they’re VERY solid.

While I don’t have an office job, these shoes are so pretty (think Sézane, but so much cheaper) and I think wearing them with a scrunched sock and a mini skirt (hmm, maybe not office?) would look very cool.

UGH. I want these but I have so many sneakers right now!!! The color is so good, with the matching laces. So cool. They also had great pointy boots that I didn’t snap a picture of but I wanted them!

Away Bag | Suitcase | Backpack | Parachute Bedding on Sale
For home staples I was extremely tempted to buy some new burgundy luggage from Away and I LOVED that parachute colorway. I didn’t need either right now but if you are in the market they are so cool from brands that are trusted, at great prices.
Now if money were no object and I was in the market for new fashion this is what I would absolutely buy:
I want that Staud sweater SO BAD. That suede bag is so chic and those AG jeans that weren’t available at my Nordstroms are perfect for my body type (I should know, I used to have them with a bunch of holes).
I’m psyched that Nordstroms carries COS now. Their stuff is incredible. If I lived in New York and needed to dress to impress I would absolutely get that La marque wool cape coat – so chic. If you want to comb all my wishlists I linked it up here.
I’ve started a Donna Karan Cashmere Mist Deodorant cult and I am a proud leader. It’s actually crazy how many of my friends have bought my deodorant at this point. I’ve linked this on the blog probably 12 times and it actually never goes on sale UNTIL NOW. I had tried every deodorant under the sun and nothing would last me through the day until I found Donna. You apply it one time and you’re set for the entire day. THIS STUFF IS AWESOME. It smells amazing (it’s literally a perfume scent made into deodorant) and yes it’s pricey for one stick (normally $32) but you can get the trio pack for $24 a stick right now on this sale!
This bag is actually everything. I’ve always loved anything and everything from Staud but their pieces have always been out of my budget…until NOW. $160 for this cutie? I immediately added to my cart and I could not be more excited. Also, I’ve been a longchamp fan for forever and still use my black one everyday (going on like 5 years). How cute is this little longchamp crossbody on sale right now?
Now is the time to snag your fall boots!! These are so cute and would be so adorable with a mini skirt. They also come in brown and a fun zebra (can you tell I love an animal print?).
Hot take: I think bedding and sleepwear are worth splurging on. (If you live to 79, you’re going to spend 27 years asleep!) To that end, I love a breezy cotton nightgown – there’s nothing better than slipping into this one after a hot day and a cool shower.
I was Em-fluenced to buy these Birkenstocks in brown (okay, I’ll confess, my mom actually bought them for me as a gift) and I’ve been wearing them almost daily for the past year. The same shoe in white will be a welcome addition to my collection!
I bought Den a Barbour coat when we were freezing out butts off in Ireland back in May (he looked so handsome! We had to get it!). But now I’m wondering…do I need a Barbour coat, too? I’d never seen one in person before – the quality is SO good, and I love this swingy shape.
For me the real jackpot when scrolling the Nordstrom sale was the beauty section. Every single scent from Salt + Stone is soooo amazing, so I’m really eyeing this scent discovery set for only $36. I haven’t owned any of these before, but there’s a little store that I often pop into in Portland that usually has samples of these out for testing and I always give myself a little spritz:)
I also saw this shower gel from Le Labo, which also smells soooo amazing… and if you’re not really a shower gel person, this body wash in the hinoki + bergamot scent is one of my faves. A little goes a long way and one of these bottles lasted me a long time!
Also just want to callout these free people jeans that both Em and I own! Only $50 (compared to usually $98!)… the raw hem and front panel detail is so cute and they have a nice stretch. If you’re in between sizes I would size up.
I’ve used a T3 straightener for years and love it, but wish that it was just a little bit better at curling my hair. It’s probably user error, but I just can’t seem to get the right flick of the wrist consistently and will give myself a crease when I’m trying to achieve soft curls, and I’m even less skilled when it comes to using a traditional curling iron. I really want to try this 2-in-1 Curling Straightener for that exact reason. Especially now that I have bangs, I find myself wanting to wear my hair curly more often, but I’m used to doing it with the straightener technique. Hopefully this tool will ease my problems!
I’m really into these cute blue sneakers from New Balance. I like that they’re not too in your face, color-wise, but would add an interesting pop to a simple outfit. They just look like really great everyday, easy-to-wear type shoes, which is always the kind I’m after!
One of my simple pleasures is plugging in my Pura scent diffuser. Currently I have Capri Blue Volcano on rotation (and love it) but I’m always looking for new scents to try out. I love a bestseller pack on sale like this one and I already know I’ll probably be obsessed with the White Tea scent. Feels like a self-care treat!
Anyway, that all from us! One last hot tip – Marlee and Gretch found that if you shop this sale by brand you can find even more amazing deals – so if you have a brand in mind, head here, then scroll down click your desired brand in the ‘brand’ dropdown next to where it says ‘filter.’ Such good finds this year! Happy shopping y’all.
