Easy-To-Wear, Lightweight, Pull On Pants Review (I Found The Best Linen Pants)

I find that a lot of comfortable pull on pants look like pajama pants on me (or just so frumpy). The pockets were in the wrong place, adding bulk in the wrong place at the hips, and they tended to be so long and oversized (just unflattering, imho). But my desire for easy-to-wear soft pants (that don’t look like sweats) won out, and I ordered a bunch to see what light, summer-weight pants are actually flattering. I SCORED. I may never wear hard pants again.

Also, real quick about Quince (non-spon) – I’m starting to think that they test their clothes/shoes on real people (not just fit models where everything drapes perfectly on them). The cuts are flattering, and the tailoring is simple and good, with nothing cutting in at the waist or tugging or hugging. I was skeptical, thinking that for that price, they would fall cheaply, or the proportions would be cut/paste and not for real bodies. I was wrong. I get the hype.

Pull On Pants: Quince – 100% European Linen Tapered Ankle Pants

Now these couldn’t look more boring on the Quince site, but with so many good reviews (and for $42, I was so curious), and they were so easy to style around. Y’all, you’ll have to pry them off of me. They are soft at the waist (they don’t cut in at all, with a wider waistband), and are so lightweight you feel like you are wearing nothing. The linen fabric is soft (not stiff, but also not so lightweight that you can see underwear lines). The pockets are big and perfectly placed to be flattering and still easily hold my phone (great for cleaning the house, as I can put my phone in my pocket for my podcasts).

They are slightly tapered and hit perfectly at the ankle. They come in a lot of colors, look dressed up, should you want to wear them to work, and are true to size (I’m wearing a small). They don’t hug anywhere, but they still have a nice shape. 15/10. Oh, and the shirt is new from J.Crew and is a slightly stretchy, loose, super lightweight button-up that is so thin and easy to 1/2 tuck. Not linen, but just as easy/breezy to wear. Loving my new Sperries, scarf, and hat from Mango. The belt bag is also Quince and extremely high quality.

Cardigan | Pants | Shoes

These are the same but in a lighter color (and in a medium which was too big). I wanted to show you because you can see the pockets better in this. I returned the medium and ordered a small in this colorway. Sweater is the Quince cardigan that is great to layer over (roomy) and high-quality. If you missed the comfortable spring flats post, those huaraches were top on the list. Incredible.

Pull On Pants: Quince – Organic Stretch Ripstop Straight Pants

Hat | Shirt | Pants | Shoes

These pull-on pants are slightly stretchy, still lightweight, giving “cargo meets jogger” and absolutely fantastic spring/summer/fall pants. They have a nice structure and a great fit. Absolutely perfect running around town pants – so comfortable and still look nice! The waist is roomy and comfortable, with some elastic and a nice draw string.

Hat | Shirt | Pants | Shoes

I bought that long-sleeved shirt in two stripes – it’s thin, classic, easy to layer over, and has a cute dropped shoulder. Shout out to my first bucket hat – turns out if a trend hangs on long enough, I end up getting on board 🙂

Pull On Pants: Aritzia – Artisan Pants

Shirt | Pants | Shoes

These wide-leg linen pants are fantastic and extremely flattering. Do not sleep on Aritzia, folks. They have a slightly dressier look than the Quince, but are still comfortable, breathable, and lightweight. They are more of a true wide leg, straight down from the hip, and the length is perfect. They feel like great summer work pants for those who need to go into an office.

Shirt | Pants | Shoes

These sit lower on your waist, which of course I love (as a short-torsoed, large-busted lady, I can’t do high waist). Big fan of these.

Pull On Pants: American Eagle – Low-Rise Baggy Cargo Parachute Pant

Sunglasses | Sweatshirt | Pants | Shoes

WINNER WINNER CHICKEN DINNER. These lightweight parachute cargo pants are 20/10. They are PERFECT. They sit nicely on the hip without cutting in uncomfortably, are so lightweight but still structured enough to be really flattering (they are cut to give a nice gap between the legs).

Sunglasses | Sweatshirt | Pants | Shoes

You can undo the string on the bottoms to have them be normal pants, but I love the “warming up” pant vibe. I wore it with my Gap hoodie (the perfect wash of blue) and leather Sambas. I bought these pants in dark brown too, as they are buy one get one 50% off. Size down, I’m wearing an XS with some perfect extra room.

Pull On Pants: Quince – 100% European Linen Wide Leg Pants

Hat | Shirt | Pants | Sandals

The wide-leg version of the Quince tapered pants are also awesome, and I was tempted to keep both. The fit is fantastic – loose, soft, and easy to pull on and off. The wide leg versus the taper is just a style choice, and I found the tapered more flattering, or maybe just more my style. But they are both really awesome. These are excellent and feel beachy and casual, but I think that with a cute sweater and ballet flats could absolutely be workwear.

Pull On Pants Quince- Vintage Wash Tencel Drawstring Cargo Pants

Scarf | Sunglasses | Cardigan | Pants | Shoes

This fabric on these pants is magic (I think it’s Tencel). It drapes so well and has such a nice weight to it. It’s still lightweight (not like the linen) and casual, easy to wear with a cargo vibe. This color isn’t available anymore, but navy is instead (which I probably would have bought originally had they had it, but I’m glad I got this one since I have other navy pants).

Scarf | Sunglasses | Cardigan | Pants | Shoes

The cardigan is boxy with slimmer arms, perfect for layering over t-shirts (I sized up to a medium to make sure I could layer it easily). Big fan. The Rothy slides with the horsebit are so comfortable and still feel dressy.

Pull On Pants: Quince – 100% European Linen Pleated Trouser

Jacket | Shirt | Pants | Belt | Shoes (old)

This was my attempt at dressing up these linen slacks for those who have office jobs and want their summer-weight linen pants to be more elevated. These are FANTASTIC. They have an elastic waist at the back, but in front it’s pleated with a button and zipper (so technically not pull-on but extremely comfortable). They are longer, so I had to wear heels so they didn’t puddle. They aren’t something I need in my capsule collection since I don’t really take in-person meetings from the waist down, but I’m happy to report that for all you office ladies, these are really, really good. Same lightweight soft linen, with good structure, but still so comfortable. True to size (I’m wearing a small) and not cutting in at all, with a medium to high waist.

Pull On Pants: Quince – Ultra-Stretch Ponte Cropped Wide Leg Pants

Shirt | Pants | Shoes

These are awesome, wide-leg, stretch-cropped pants that are as comfortable as sweats, but look like slacks. Extremely flattering with the front pockets, and then they drape straight down and out, with really good structure for how comfortable they are. Just so well made. Even without an office job, I’m keeping these as I think they are such a classic staple that would typically be constricting or uncomfortable. Also, that linen shirt is so perfectly washed, and those nude ballet flats are extremely comfortable and flattering (even for us wider-footed ladies).

Pull On Pants: Quince – Ultra-Stretch Ponte Tapered Cargo Pants

Shirt | Scarf (similar) | Bag (not available) | Sunglasses | Pants | Belt | Shoes

Another shockingly comfortable structured pair of slacks, and true pull-ons this time. These are a bit thicker, stretchy, and feel and look so expensive. They are cargo pants + joggers, and I think can be dressed up for the office, or just with sneakers or flip flops.

Shirt | Scarf (similar) | Bag (not available) | Sunglasses | Pants | Belt | Shoes

I bought these in both a small (navy) and medium (green), and they both fit, actually (one is tighter, but I also loved the green ones that were a bit looser).

Shirt | Scarf (similar) | Bag (not available) | Sunglasses | Pants | Belt | Shoes

I love where they hit on the ankles, I love the tapered fold on the bottom (that is stitched perfectly), and they are really slimming for being how comfortable they are.

The navy blue (small) fits better and might be a more universally easier color to wear. Massive fan of these pants – so comfortable, flattering, versatile with a wide but not too wide waistband that feels like wearing sweats. Cardigan also from Quince and is so easy to layer, making it a fantastic spring nighttime sweater.

So in case you are fearful (like me) that comfortable pull on pants are frumpy, I hope this post helps. When I started shopping for this post, I was skeptical that I’d find any that I would be excited to wear, and I’m so happy to say I was wrong. My favorites are the tapered linen from Quince, the American Eagle stretch cargo pants, the ripstop pants, and these thicker stretchy joggers. Oh, and if you like camo, these pull-on pants from Pilcro (Anthropologie) arrived after our shoot, but they are AWESOME.

I love the pants – and I especially love Bert peeking over the fence in the opening picture. So funny 😀
