First and foremost, Happy Mother’s Day!! If you are a mother, we hope this day is full of so much love and appreciation for all that you do. If you are missing your mother, we want to honor you, too. This day really does bring up a lot, both good and hard, so regardless of what emotions you are feeling, be sweet to yourself. And if part of that sweetness is reading this link up, we are so grateful and hope it brings a smile to your face. Let’s dive in<3
This week’s house tour was designed by none other than Tali Roth. It’s bold in its Milanese inspiration but also warm and so, so beautiful. Come see!
From Emily: I have FANTASTIC news in the underwear department – I’ve found my TWO new favorite pairs (my daytime thong and my nighttime full coverage) and just bought 6 of each of them because my previous inventory was rough. These are so invisibly soft (and invisible under pants!), and I’ve been test-driving them for 4 months (not straight) and can say they are still not falling down or ripped up or anything. You see, I used to have a favorite pair of underwear (from Jockey, no less), but they changed the “recipe” a bit (fine, but not as good), and even still, they are always sold out. So I’ve been buying at Target or Old Navy, just kinda wherever you buy cheap underwear, but pretty unhappy with every pair. So a few months ago I bought a few pairs from Aerie and loved them, so after a specifically frustrating underwear week where no matter how much I dug through my drawers I couldn’t find any that were comfortable, I decided to ditch all of the old ones and bought 6 more of each – 18 brand new pairs of undies (bundle them to save!). I even tested two different sizes (both small and medium) and two different models of thongs. Historically, I’ve always sized up to make sure they don’t cut in, but cheap ones can fall down if they are too big. So while the smalls fit, I prefer the mediums in all styles (they still stay put, but feel like nothing is there). I only bought the nude and the black – streamlining my life. I bought this model in nude for my daytime thong (same in black), and I loved this model (in nude) for light dresses, and this black model for nighttime. Size up if you want to not ever notice they are on your body. The trick is to create a “bundle” to save a lot of money (thus the 6 of each). Now, if you like your undies snug, then stay in your normal size – they really don’t cut in at all. I just have sensory stuff where I like to not even feel them. It’s been a journey – I’m so glad to be here long enough to share what I’ve learned:)
This week on Instagram!
From Mallory: I’m heading to a tropical destination wedding this month and wanted to get some accessories that were fun and summery for our trip – you already know we love Etsy over here (because who doesn’t love supporting small businesses?), so I went perusing their site and found the cutest little statement necklace! I’ve been loving the beaded necklace trend that’s happening, but I wanted something that felt nautical and had a fun charm but wasn’t overwhelming – well, this little undulating fish charm really checked those boxes for me, haha. If you’re looking for some fun summer statement necklaces, check this one out, or just let this be your reminder to shop Etsy!
From Arlyn: You know what’s disappointing? Getting into the shower of a new home and realizing that the water pressure leaves much to be desired. BUT THEN! You deep dive into the mind hive of the internet to find something to help, and you actually buy something you’re happy with. What a feat! Anyway, that’s my shower head story. We had one of those cheap, plastic handheld shower heads with a few settings, all of which are bad. Why have multiple settings if each of them is worse than the next? If you haven’t heard of Hammerhead, it’s time to listen up because they are all metal construction and supremely affordable for the quality, and YES, they can transform your showering experience. I could barely rinse the conditioner out of my head before, and that’s no longer the deal. I’m not one to dance between settings, so we opted for the 1-spray model, but there is a 3-spray model, a rain shower version, a dual version, and a few others. I highly recommend it if you, too, struggle with water pressure, especially right now while the whole site is on sale.
From Caitlin: This one is for my fellow history and political junkies – I recently checked out a copy of The Lost History of Liberalism: From Ancient Rome to the Twenty-First Century from my local library (shoutout to the Libby app – it’s a must-have!) and found it REALLY enthralling and educational – I was really surprised to learn that the theory historically referred to creating ideal religious citizens who valued charity, generosity, and morality. The author, Helena Rosenblatt, traces liberalism from Ancient Greece through the French Revolution, through today, and it’s a really interesting look at how things have progressed and changed over centuries! Added bonus: Helena was the guest on Ezra Klein’s podcast this week, if you’d rather learn about liberalism’s history via headphones. It’s really interesting, I promise!!!
From Marlee: I was on Anthro’s site, seeing if there was anything I wanted to use Em’s 20% off code for (EMILYH20, expires today, May 10th!!!) and realized there are quite a few products I love that the code works on! Let me put you on: I LOVE this deodorant so much – I’ve rebought it multiple times in multiple scents, but the Neroli and Basil really takes the cake. I also love their body wash (don’t use it every day, I save it for showers where I wanna feel luxurious;)). This is such a yummy perfume – I’m not really sure how to describe it. It’s a little musky, but so sweet-smelling at the same time. It’s definitely a unisex scent, and I know a ton of people who use it too – “you’re wearing the dedcool perfume, aren’t you” is a common phrase among my friends. Also a big fan of the tinted sunscreen from Supergoop. It gives you such a good glow!
From Gretchen: I made a pretty silly purchase this week, but I’ll share it with you anyway… I don’t know if this happens to you, but often when I’m marketed on Instagram, the algorithm gods show me the cutest clothing items, but once I fall for the trick and click on them, only then do I realize it’s a shirt meant for toddlers/kids. COOL. Old Navy suckered me in the same way with this perfect 1994 (my birth year) red boys’ jersey. But jokes on them because I went ahead and ordered an XXL and it fits like a medium/large. Score! I bought it on 50% off sale (they always have a deal going) and I was happily surprised to see the numbers were stitched on instead of printed.
As we were poking around this week, Marlee noticed that Nordstrom had some really great things on sale (including one of Em’s favorite pairs of shorts:))

Madewell’s Lace Insert Ruffle Pintuck Long Sleeve Top (Now: $104, Was: $138) | Boden’s Ellie Long Sleeve Broderie Denim Shirtdress (Now: $176, Was: $270)
But first, how pretty is that blouse!? It’s very Doen-like but for a much, much better price! The dress is stunning. Perfect for spring and summer with beautiful detailing. Also, the color is that perfect “happy denim blue” we all love so much.

Free People’s Nova T-Shirt (Now: $29, Was: $38) | Free People’s Moxie Distressed High Waist Denim Cutoff Shorts (Now: $96, Was: $128)
Look for a GREAT plain tee and cool denim shorts? Here’s the perfect combo. Em owns both of these and wears them all of the time. If you want a deeper review of the shorts, head here!

Clare V.’s Petit Moyen Woven Messenger Bag (Now: $298, Was: $425)
EHD has a long-standing love for Clare V. Their bags and accessories are the best! But they aren’t cheap:) We love how fun but versatile this bag and colorway are, and while the price still isn’t the most affordable, that discount is gooood if you have the budget.

Adidas’ Japan Low Top Sneaker (Now: $80, Was: $120) | Steve Madden’s Shay Pointed Toe Slingback Flat (Now: $59, Was: $99)
For shoes, Em has these sneakers in the Bronze/ Crystal Sky/ Orange color and just wrote about them in her flats review! These leather flats are very cute and really versatile. A great professional flat:)
From Jess: Both Emily and I have been dabbling into Aritzia more and really loving the clothes! This past weekend, I happened to be at the mall and stopped into the store since I’m on the hunt for some more casual, everyday tops. I tend to prefer a more fitted t-shirt, and this one I got is amazing. So soft, the perfect stretch, and the one I purchased has a gray and white stripe down both sides (H Chrome/ Multi) to make it a little more interesting. Oh, it’s also longer, so I can confidently wear it with my mid-rise and lower-rise jeans:) Not to mention, it’s only $28. I also purchased this top and this one!
Again, Happy Mother’s Day! See ya’ll tomorrow for a highly-anticipated update 🙂
