Alright folks, its election season and I’m in the running again. The Homies are happening this week – which is Apartment Therapy’s award for best blog (I’m in the home inspiration category). Last year it was down to Jenny (Little Green Notebook) and I, and I thought about going all Tanya Harding on her, except that I really love her and her blog and she (very deservingly) won that thing. Also I love that Tanya Harding always becomes relevant again during the olympics.
Last week was the preliminary round and now we are in the finals. Without getting too ‘NPR fundraising drive’ on you all week, I figured I’d highlight some of the bigger projects and posts from this last year. Maybe it could inspire (read: manipulate) you into voting this week for me.
LA Bungalow Makeover | A happy room that’s a mix of bohemian casual and modern dude for some really good friends of mine.
after photo by zeke ruelasOh Joy Studio | I love this studio so much it’s stupid. It’s just so happy, inspiring, colorful, but still feels so bright and airy with enough white and airiness to not let your little brain go insane. Plus she’s my friend and she has one of the cutest kids i’ve ever met.
Bri Emery’s Apartment | My friend Bri’s house is the perfect balance of pretty, modern and graphic with bright hits of color. Masculine lines in the furniture balance out all the girl accessories. Plus there was a pinata.
DecorView Bedroom | A shiny happy bedroom for two well deserving parents. This project was super rewarding in every way.
Cup of Jo Living Room | A big time blogger (and very normal chick, thank god) with two adorable boys got a pretty big makeover in her bedroom, kids room and living/dining room.
Curbly Makeover | An awesome family, a great trip and some rooms that I’m jealous of. Check out their living, dining, master bedroom and sunroom. That’s a lot of makeovers, folks.
Country Living House of the Year | One of the most rewarding projects to date of a hurricane Sandy house all redone for Country Living. Check out the living room, dining nook kitchen and bathroom.
We seriously made over a lot of spaces, and all whilst pregnant. It’s crazy to see it all in one post and this isn’t even all of it, just the highlights. Quite the satisfying year, indeed. So on that note …. if you are into what we do here then head on over to Apartment Therapy and give a sister a vote. I promise even better content this year full of tips, tricks, how-to’s, shopping resources and gratuitous photos of my cat and baby. It’s a design blog, sure, but it’s also pretty much my life.
So in case you nee the link again here you are: The Homies 2014. Do it … if you feel like it 🙂
Also leave a comment with what your favorite of these above makeovers is – I get curious what people respond to the most. Is it the design or the story? or both? I actually don’t have a favorite, but do you?
And thanks, Rebecca Zajac, for pulling this post together | Design By Numbers
