5 Great Spring Outfits (+ I Found This Year’s Spring/Summer’s Romper!)

I’m still wearing clothes, spring outfits if you will. Even the rainiest of shoot days can’t stop us from buying tulips and ranunculus and posing around my house in the name of moving the season forward. And honestly, it got us all so excited for spring and spring outfits. Making it through “the great long dark” up here is worth celebrating by picking up a few new things that make us feel good. (A sale announcement at the end, BTW).

Spring Outfits

Blazer | Shirt | Trousers | Mules

Y’all. I have to admit something (and hoping for no comment war) – Walmart’s negative PR in the 90s really gripped me for decades. My 8-year heavy partnership with Target (which I have to honestly credit for a lot of my success) clarified my allegiance. But as we continue to realize all big affordable companies can be both good and bad, I decided to release my judgment in the name of affordable options and pop into my first Walmart store since I was a teenager. FYI, there isn’t one that is close to me, and there are two Targets within 10 minutes. While this particular shopping experience wasn’t fantastic, I did find a few things that I tried on at home and was surprised. This seersucker suit being one of them. It’s dang good.

Blazer | Shirt | Trousers | Mules

It’s a subtle statement that has a clear point of view and can be worn both as separates and as a chic summer suit. It looks appropriately expensive and has great tailoring. If I had an office job, I would absolutely put this in rotation.

Blazer | Shirt | Jeans | Sandals | Beaded Necklace | Bag

This is likely more what I’d wear if I wanted to give a “suit”. This blazer is cute and oversized, which I think is successful due to its small pattern and serious double-breasted cut. Big fan.

I wore it over a simple T-shirt, layered jewelry, the world’s most obvious knock off of a Clare V Bag from Target (God, I feel so conflicted about this!!). I’m so happy that more people can afford to have the cool bag look without spending $350, but also GEESH. Target sandals that I reviewed in my sandal roundup (mostly good!!).

Sweater | Shirt | Shorts | Bag | Mules | Birkenstocks | Slides

Perhaps one of my favorite outfits that is oddly boring and yet successful. Affordable sweater, over my favorite bermuda denim shorts, and the world’s most comfortable mules. I can’t stop wearing these shoes – with shorts, dresses, and pants (I just literally named all the clothes your legs can wear). They are just highly flattering while being so comfortable.

Sweater | Shirt | Shorts | Bag

I sized up on the sweater to a medium so that it could be more grandpa cardigan-y, which is pretty dang perfect. I have no idea what she is looking at with some tender love.

Romper | Sandals | Beaded Necklace

After trying this on, I immediately congratulated myself on finding this summer’s denim romper. Buttons, loose waist, tie, pockets…it falls and drapes so well. The shorts bell out and have great volume, which I think is flattering (moments of large volume make other areas feel smaller).

Romper | Sandals | Beaded Necklace

I’m going to wear this all summer. Especially with those sandals (which are in heavy rotation).

Denim Set | Beaded Necklace | Mules

I think this set is extremely chic. It’s a lot of volume, and it’s meant to be oversized, but the lady who walks into a meeting wearing this is cool and confident.

There are pleats at the waist and the perfect tone of stitching. It’s a lot of fabric, so it’s great for the days when you don’t want to feel too exposed (or have anything that hugs or tugs), but I think it’s just cool as hell. I like it with my nude mules, but I think it could look great with the leopard sandals as well.

***For all my Portland friends, Saturday, April 11th, I’ll be having a pop-up sale at Community Warehouse, where I’m bringing like 10 racks of clothes that are in great condition. An occupational hazard of the job is that I need to wear what is current – clothes I legitimately love. But I can’t keep accumulating clothes without purging, and most of my clothes aren’t high-end enough to go to consignment, but they are almost in perfect condition, so it feels sad to donate to Goodwill. So I offered to do a pop-up for 4 hours where CW gets all the money from the sales, while I get to meet a lot of you, which really fills up my bucket. More details to come, but we are thinking I’ll be there from 11-3 pm at the Community Warehouse location on MLK. I’ll bring a lot of other swag that is sent to me that I don’t need – think candles, beauty, some lamps/bedding – all things that had to be shot, but are in perfect condition. Think more garage sale than flea market. Come say hi!!!

Oh, and in case you missed the spring sandal post, HEAD HERE! Or the spring dress post!
