I’ve been in an identity crisis for most of 2021. Personally and professionally and it made planning the future very hard. WHO ARE WE POST-LOCKDOWN??? The year 2020 shifted the blog (and all our lives dramatically). Our design content pivoted (are we done with that word yet?) pretty quickly to help solve problems, create comfort, and give resources in the home as we were all in lockdown. But we did it in a very low-budget, casual way that required way less production on our end. And I LOVED the freedom and ease of that level of production. We went from 4-7 photoshoots a week to maybe 1-2 with my iPhone, at my house, in my pajamas. I’m talking REALLY LOW QUALITY when it came to photos, styling, etc. I just rewatched and read Brian’s post about Matty Matheson and I really loved that vibe. We were way more focused on what was practical and relatable than trying to be perfect. And not only was it fun/fast/easy to do but it was actually what we wanted to see on the internet, too. Even myself, a stylist obsessed with perfectly yet effortlessly styled photographs did NOT want to see someone’s home looking annoyingly beautiful during that year.
Cut to the end of 2021. In the last few months specifically, I’ve seen this real shift back to “perfection” on most of the internet. And y’all I don’t want to go back full-time perfection pushing. I found myself, for the first time in my career, really comparing myself to others, feeling jealous their homes looked so good, their content so professional, and frustrated that the world is just back to business as usual – that what we learned in the last two years has already been forgotten. But of course, that was just my own insecurity, grappling with my desire to not become the machine that I once was, and just trying to figure out how to “do it all” while maintaining the sense of slowness that I’ve had. I also have felt confused about what people want, and like there is a backlash for anything we do because the audience has gotten so large. Here’s an example – If I wear an American-made, expensive dress, people are irritated that they can’t afford it and I get called out. If I wear a $19.99 Target dress, people feel like I’m promoting fast fashion and I get called out, and if I wear something vintage/thrifted people feel frustrated they can’t click and buy. And I fully understand all three viewpoints, but no matter what I feel bad that someone is unhappy and it feels like a lose-lose. The sauna blanket posts is a great example – so many of you found it useful (and the traffic/engagement were very high which yes, produced a lot of revenue) but many of you found it was off-brand for me – which I fully get, but it was honest and I had fun doing it. It made me think what is “the brand” anyway post-pandemic.
While the blog was doing great (thanks to you all) in 2020 and 2021 I was still confused about the future. Brian and my priorities shifted and we really wanted to slow down. So we left the city and focused on trying to create a life off of the hamster wheel in Oregon. But what does that look like business-wise? Do I want to grow the business or keep it “as is”? Can you even exist without wanting to grow or progress? Isn’t that just part of the human condition? How do you exist as a content creator or “influencer” with a team to support without getting back on the hamster wheel and saying yes to everything good that comes our way? DO I HAVE TO BE ON TIK TOK???? Can we possibly keep up with every platform and do them well??
And then I realized, wait, we can do all of those things and maybe that’s actually where we should live anyway (and always have, but with less mental ownership). We can still do low-budget mirror-selfie posts while also doing the higher budget styled-out photoshoots. And that’s not only OK, but perhaps having a looser approach can actually have a broader/more inclusive appeal. We can be more things to more people and just own it.
So here is the analogy that I pitched to the team – We are like a large Hollywood studio production company that tells stories about home and design. We can do big-budget blockbusters (the tent pole superhero films that pay for everything else), the low-budget indie films (budget stories, trends), documentaries (real process and education), off-broadway plays (experimental design posts), commercials (sponsored content), and even the free theater in the park (feel good makeovers) – WHATEVER WE WANT as long as we do them in the EHD way. Not every production (post) will be for all people, and that’s ok. Like Hugh Jackman – I prefer him in The Greatest Showman over Wolverine, but he does them both really well. Some people are here for the big well-produced reveals, some for nitty-gritty farmhouse documentary process, some for house hunting, some for trends, budget products, fashion, and some for sauna blanket reviews. And that’s GREAT. We hear you and we know that many of you want budget design ideas while others want discussions around sustainability. And that’s good! Both things can happen here. With my team and our contributors, we can be more things to more people, but we can’t be all things to all people every single day. We all can agree that if today’s post isn’t for you – just come back tomorrow and hopefully it might be.
And listen, if coming here many days in a row makes you feel bad, uncomfortable, or snarky in any way – then I think we aren’t the right fit for you. And that’s ok, too. We’ll be more on top of the comments this year to ensure that this remains a site full of positive, productive, and constructive design conversations, education, inspiration, resources all with a personal connection to us. No snark towards each other, or the writer of the post in the comments allowed, and if you want to snark about me there are dark places on the internet you can waste your time. Go for it. Of course, discussion and constructive criticism are ALWAYS welcome, but I’ve had too many readers reach out saying that some days the comment section kinda ruins the spirit of the blog and bums them out and we agree. No one should feel guilt and shame for their choices in their home. I know many days I’ve avoided the comment section myself out of anxiety and we have some writers that don’t want to write for us anymore because of it. And listen, it’s just a few commenters so I think it will be easy to control (we know because we can look up IP addresses even if you use email aliases like a few of you do). So don’t waste your time, you will be quickly deleted (which FYI automatically deletes any comment that replies to the original one so don’t reply to them). Boundaries, y’all. We aren’t perfect people. We are human, and we are trying really really hard to help inspire, educate and entertain no matter what your budget and style.
I’m actually super excited and feel re-energized – and I couldn’t have said that 2 months ago. I feel more empowered to educate and use what I’ve learned to help you all through your design process. And I’m not alone! With the help of my team (and former team), we’ve really turned into a publishing platform and have been able to broaden the voices, styles, and budgets and want to continue to do it in 2022. I think I just needed to own my shit more, be proud of the mess, process, the reveals, and throw up some new boundaries (the buzzword of 2021).
I think just giving myself permission to do the big-budget blockbusters and the more experimental low-budget indie films has unlocked my creativity and made me less hard on myself. Going back to perfectly produced everything gave me anxiety and just didn’t feel right. I mean I’m living in a house with sheets on the windows for curtains and renovating what feels like an absolute mud/money-pit. My hair is frizzy every day because of the rain and I mostly wear yoga clothes and bogs. I don’t really feel like a style inspiration right now and I refuse to put it on just for the camera. How do you show that mess “perfectly”? I think you don’t, you just embrace it. And yet I can’t WAIT to style out the farm, making beautiful photos and videos to reveal this insane project (yes, the “blockbuster”), I LOVE styling branches in a vase to camera and placing the slippers next to the bed, *like so*. But I also love talking about my mudroom or closet woes, with iPhone shots. I love working with a partner to tell a story around their product, which often pays for the feel-good makeovers. We love finding truly great budget furniture and researching smart products for better living. And I love writing personal posts about parenting, marriage, and religion.
WE LOVE IT ALL. So instead of feeling like we have to be one thing, we are embracing the fact that we can do posts of all budgets/styles, etc, as long as we do it in the EHD way.
So expect all of it – it’s going to be a real “throw it at the wall and see what sticks” year – which honestly isn’t that much different than the last 10 years, it’s just a clearer mind-frame and less apologizing. And in digital and social media there is literally no predicting what will work – well except talking about dead cats, vasectomies, living room rug sizes, hair, and sauna blankets. I suppose I should figure out what all those have in common and plan our editorial calendar based on that? :)
A huge thank you to my team, of course, who has stuck with me navigating my identity crisis this year. There was a lot of “talking it out” and moments of privacy and I know that isn’t easy for a small team to navigate, both personally and professionally so thank you Jess, Caitlin, Ryann, and Mal. I appreciate the hell out of you. And thank you to our new contributors who have created some of the best content on the blog – looking at you Key, Malcolm, Albie, Ajai, Anita, Lea, and Rashida. I’m so proud of all of the EHD family for the incredible content produced, even when your leader is having an identity crisis. :) You’ll see even more faces this year as we grow a small team in Portland.
And thanks to you readers, seriously. Twelve years in and I know that many of you were here from the beginning and come every day and I can’t TELL YOU how much that means to me. I am not a “people pleaser” in general, but boy do I want to please you, as you guys truly do know me and have supported me on the way up. So just thank you for sticking by me, coming back, and embracing all of the changes, transitions, and self-indulgence :)
CHEERS TO 2022 being a VERY interesting year!!!!!

I love all of it!!! Sounds like a perfect plan! Thank you so much for showing up every day, I have enjoyed the last twelve years and looking forward to the next ?
Boy, as a school administrator through Covid I sure do identify with the problem of not being able to please everyone. I read this blog every day and am working on a third home design with your guidance, ideas, and filter for what’s cool, useful and attractive in home design. Kudos to you and your team for all
your success, and thank you very much for inspiring, helping, and amusing us all.
I, too, am a school administrator, and you took the words right out of my mouth! Perfectly put, Colleen. And good luck with Omicron:(
sounds like a good plan. why is this post so relatable. it’s weird, for years, i feel like i relate to the things you say at the same time you’re saying them. i think maybe because we are same age, similar aged kids (mine slightly older), and maybe all women kind of go through these things mentally at the same time. that’s all i wanted to say. and yes, “boundaries” is 10000000000000% my 2022 word and mindset.
Feeling all your same feels in life. FYI I’m a new follower and have loved the messy process posts, perfect photo shoots AND sauna blanket reviews. I’m not here for one type, but all of it. No one is perfect, and it stresses me to follow someone whose life looks perfect, even when it isn’t. Thanks Emily and team! Looking forward to a fun new year!
totally agree. this is my only daily design website read for that reason. well, the other reason being i love the ehd brand of design. but i love that i’m not looking at unattainable perfection every day.
Perfect Emily! My daughter and I call this the “you can’t win” of the Internet. This is my first time posting a comment on this site! I just wanted to tell you this was perfect timing for my own stuggles. Thank you!
Beautiful. I’m in. ❤️
Amen to “We all can agree that if today’s post isn’t for you – just come back tomorrow and hopefully it might be.” I check in every day, some I love and return to again and again, some I skim. A few topics were ones I did not initially gravitate towards but grew to love for the realness (the fashion ones.) So I look forward to following for another year, and what you, your broad team and contributors bring to the blog! Thank you!
Totally agree!
I’m so sorry you have to put up with snark. It’s not fair. Plus, we all do “sustainable” in our own ways as to what’s important to us–or practical–or cost effective. If a post isn’t of interest to me, I scan it and come back another day! ;) Ya’ll do a great job!
Happy New Year, EHD Team!
As a daily reader for definitely 9 years, maybe 10, I can tell you that every post isn’t for me, (my needs or interest or writing style) but I can recognize that and I’ll scroll to peak at the pictures. I would never expect to have every post be interesting to me. (I don’t wear shorts, what can I say?)
Somehow you all can rotate through your big budget and indie projects all week long and it has kept me engaged all these years. It must be very draining to be a people pleaser in this business and the more readers you have with all the different needs gives a lot of negative feedback. You all do it well! I can’t imagine having enough creative juice to come up with new content and adaptable ideas. Here’s to another year of you doing YOU. Live with that frizzy hair and style those slippers *just so*, you do it all well. I’ll see you every morning with my coffee like I have for all these years.
Just here to say there are lots of places on the internet to see fancy photos, but I’m here regularly reading your blog because I love to hear what you’re thinking about. Your voice is so special. You’re quirky, honest, funny and helpful! I love your blog and you’ve assembled a team of equally thoughtful interesting folks. Keep doing you Emily. I’m here for it.
Beautifully said Haley!
100
Well said Haley. I’m here for all the same, wonderful, reasons!
Ditto that Haley!!
And why didn’t others learn what I learned as a child from my mother, “If you don’t have something nice to say, don’t say anything at all.” Not that I believe in only being fake/nice but jeez people, if the content doesn’t interest you or you don’t agree with it, just move on. Be nice! I’m glad to hear that you are going to be muting those types of comments.
Agree! I have been here for many years and these are the reasons. I also learn so much from you about design and defining my own style. Thank you for all you do Emily and team. I’ll be here every day. :)
I’m just now reaading the comments after days without wifi/power and this comment (thus far) made me cry. THANK YOU. very. very much. xx
I love it! There are a million design and lifestyle blogs out there, but what keeps your readers coming back is the relatability, and for me, the way you are such a good mentor for your team and seem to have no problem giving them credit for what they do–way to be a boss! The friendship and positivity shines through.
I’m so sorry there are some trolls out there–fake email addresses? Really? What would be funny is if your sent them back a little compilation of, say, a year’s worth of their nasty comments from their IP address with a little “thank you from the team”.
It cracks me up that people make demands when they get all this content for free, like they own you.
If you stopped the blog, they’d be the first ones howling in disbelief and disapointment.
Anyway, enough about the haters. Looking forward to 2022 and seeing more of everyone’s work! I just styled my credenza by the EHD “rules” and may I say it looks awesome. :)
YES Lindsay!! Yes to every word! And I’m sure your credenza looks soooo good ?
Emily – do what you love and your audience will follow! i am here for it all!
This blog has been part of my morning routine for more years than I can count. I appreciate the variety, honesty and content and I adore all your contributors. Happy 2022!
Same!
Honestly, I can find something interesting in any post even if it’s not directly relatable to my tastes or life. Thank you for including us in your journey!
Yaaay!!! It sounds intriguing and exciting!? I really liked the low budget productions with the high end ones sptinkled in, so if Covid gave that quirk and it’s going to stay, yippee. It’s remarkable that I’ve watched you grow, evolve and reinvent the blog over so.many.years…. no babies, babies, kids growing up so.fast! Different homes, different styles. All.so.good. ? Lastyear, as I broke free, I noticed how often people used the word “JUST” as they attempted to advise me: “Just do this and it’ll be okay….JUST don’t…..JUST try and “. There actually isn’t a “just.” You know how sooo many women say “Sorry” when they mean “Pardon? I couldn’t hear you” or “Excuse me” as they squeeze past?? Same. Not sorry. No just. I now see that if we’re going to really own our statements, there is no just. I re-read your compelling and enlightening post and kind of blanked out the “justs” and it’s so much stonger, convincing and driven. Emily, you’re a truly good human. You know that what you’re doing works. That’s why you’re still going strong while so many others have slipped through the cracks, fizzled out or evaporated. The jey is to remain relevant, change… Read more »
Thank you for making this one of my favorite places on the internet. You can’t please everyone, nor should you, and it’s so freeing when you finally stop trying to. And kudos to you for cutting out the snarky negative comments. I think it’s fair to say that you lose your privilege to share your viewpoints if you can’t do it with kindness and respect. Keep doing you and I look forward to another year of enjoying my morning coffee while reading your blog.
Love this Emily! EHD is the only blog I check consistently every day (and most days, read through completely). I would never expect one site to cater perfectly to me, but it’s incredible how most of your posts actually do (!) simply because they are so honest and relatable. Even in the beautiful photo shoots, the writer will acknowledge when they wish they’d styled something differently or something. THAT creates the effect that when they are gushing about something else, I actually believe them.
Team EHD – you all are amazing in that you set a tone that is somehow both positive AND honest – a tricky balance. You truly do brighten my every day. Thank you so much. Happy 2022!
Love these honest, raw, and transparent posts! When reading the first few paragraphs, what came to my mind was: YOU DO YOU.
I love this blog, long-time reader who’s here to stay. I take what I want, take what I need, and then carry on, bringing with me the little pieces that I connected with. Joy the Baker on her Sunday posts always includes a sentence like, “Take only what you need”, or “Take only what feels good”, and that’s kinda the perfect way of saying she’s giving what she wants to give, and you only need to take what you want to take. Now, we can’t teach good manners to the people who have nothing nice to say, but that’s a topic for another day.
And for your own personal compassion, could you consider rephrasing “identity crisis” to “transition phase”? You’re still you, you’ve been you, you’ll continue to be you, you’re just gonna morph and jump and dip and side-step, AND THEN LAND (for a moment!) where you land – as you. Fabulous you. And we’re here for it.
Works for me – I check the blog every day and when it’s a post that that’s not up my alley I come back and check the next day. Win-win. :)
I love all of this! Great post! I have often felt the feeling of, “Wow, they cannot win.” But you nailed it- you are never going to make everyone happy all of the time. Does every post resonate with me deeply? Of course not, but I wouldn’t expect it to. But I keep coming back because I love the writing, I love the variety, I love the true commitment and changes I’ve seen here elevating BIPOC voices and smaller brands, and I love the vulnerability and honesty.
Happy New Year EHD team!
Yup me too! You guys are walking the walk instead of just talking the talk, like so many others. Love the blog, and I’m here to stay! Been reading since 2012 and you are only the blog I read!! I don’t understand people who think everyone should be catered to them, my goodness!
I appreciate you and your staff and contributors. What I love most about you, Emily, is that you are so authentic and honest. I come for the design content, but I come every day and read what you have for me, whether it’s design/styling or something else. I’m glad you are setting some behavior norms and boundaries. Looking forward to seeing everything to come from you all this year!
Being Real is your superpower.
Oh Em..! I am one of those readers who comes every day from if not the beginning, very nearly. I am also one of your readers who often reads the comment section with trepidation… And yes, one who responds to those ‘snarky’ commenters but in a way that I hope tries to raise the vibration of the conversation. But still! I cannot seem to help myself (even when I know the less oxygen given, the better!). Which is all to say, I felt a Wave of RELIEF when you said you guys would be “on top of the comments this year” -Thank You. And then, I may have actually teared up when you said “less hard on myself” and with “less apologizing” -which both often organically arise from that ‘ownership’ you mentioned : ). I am so, so, sooo appreciative of you, your staff/work family, the growing group of fantastic new contributors, the education and the community that live within ‘the walls’ of this blog (and my God, what a lifeline during lockdown and the pandemic as it continues!!!). Whether it’s the relaxed phone pics or the more produced content or all the everything in between -I am here for… Read more »
Emily, as a sometimes commenter, daily reader, this is exactly why I come to your blog every.single.day. You have created an educational and inspirational space that has always been inclusive to all. I have learned so much from you and your team, and if the content doesn’t relate, I move on and wait for the next day. It has been a beautiful process to watch you grow this amazing business, and support a huge community of people from all walks of life. It makes me happy and brings me joy to “visit” with all of you each day. You have been a beacon of hope and compassion for the last two years and I love this new direction. I’ve long held a deep seated passion for art, design, interiors and architecture since I was 12, and now I’m 46. Your blog, and less than a handful of others, have given me the courage to step away from Information Technology to return to my roots in 2022. I needed to see the messy, imperfect bits to know that it was OK in this world. All that we see on the “Interwebs” and social is extreme perfection and is causes so many… Read more »
Sounds like you shifted from either/ or thinking to yes/and. The key phrase is ” as long as we do it the EH way”. This is how we truly are as humans. For my work I wear paint splattered bibs, a bandana and no makeup. I was out the other day with sparkly earrings a silk scarf and makeup and told a guy I rehab houses and I could tell if he saw me at home depot buying paint in my work clothes he wouldn’t know it was me. He was skeptical when I told him I rehab houses until I started talking technical terms about plaster repair. Can’t I be both? Can’t I be slick production and grainy pics on a phone? Can’t we all?
Glad you figured it out for now. It will evolve again because that’s what we do as humans! Good post for the new year
I’m guessing that you being you, you’ll always question your “identity,” but that isn’t a crisis it’s a personality <3. I am glad you’re setting boundaries. The stranger they are, the safer you can feel to post authentically and creatively, and the more community can build. Have a wonderful 2022, Emily. I do feel you’re a force for good, as well as being excellent with throw blankets;).
This is awesome! I love your blog b/c of the realness—keep it coming!
Long time reader loving your process!!! Always great content, thank you ?✌??
Happy New Year! Grateful to be a small part of your amazing journey. Looking forward to 2022 with EHD!
This blog/instagram is never boring. That’s the only way you could lose me as a reader. You do enough content in a variety of ways. It’s always interesting. Some days something resonates, and it gets pinned. Sometimes I click on the featured item and buy. Sometimes I just learn something. Some days, it’s just ‘meh’ for me. And that’s a good thing. If everything always is right in my lane, then you’re just writing / producing for a very narrow niche. I like that you’re wider than just me.
Keep on being yourselves. I love the writing.
“I like that you’re wider than just me” – yes! Nailed it! What a great perspective.
Love! It’s like Walt Whitman said, “Do I contradict myself? Very well, then, I contradict myself; (I am large. I contain multitudes).” And we all do! But of course, not everyone’s multitudes will align exactly, and that’s ok too. There’s literally no way to please everyone all the time. Companies with more money and time to devote to cracking that code have tried, and they haven’t figured it out either. My wish, which you’re welcome to ignore of course, is for the “low budget indie movie” posts to get a little more attention. If it’s up on the blog and it’s about the outfits, then I think it makes sense to do those mirror selfies in a well-lighted area and make sure the links go to the right items. The sauna blanket post felt incongruous to me, less because it was a review of a luxury item, but because it was a review of luxury item with low quality photos and weird angles. I *promise* I’m not being snarky, just offering my unsolicited two cents on how those “little guys” can fit in more with the more typical content. Happy New Year! I hope 2022 feels more settled for all of… Read more »
So happy to read this Emily! I’m busy FT working mom that tries to limit my own screen time and your blog is one of the very few content sources that makes it through my own strict filter. I don’t come here for perfectly produced content (although I do enjoy it, once in a while). I come here for YOU. I come here to ‘connect’ with a real person who is comfortable being authentically messy. I can’t imagine how difficult it is to show your true colors in front of thousands (hundreds of thousands?) strangers, and I’m just here to say: I appreciate you. I’m grateful for you. I’m here for you. So just be you. And whatever that means… I’m along for the ride :)
It’s your blog and you should do whatever you want with it, without worrying about it being completely cohesive, or whatever. If the topic doesn’t interest someone one day, they can skip it and not complain about it! The one thing that makes me cringe to read these days is talking about the pandemic as if it’s in the past. For those of us who work in hospitals (and have been this whole time, so we never experienced staying at home) cases are sadly
at a record high in a lot of places. I don’t expect blogs to cater to my personal desires. But one thing I do wish more blogs would do is to use their platform to demonstrate safe practices that will finally get us out of this stupid pandemic. I’m not saying you don’t do this! I’ve noticed you talk about it a lot more than other design/lifestyle bloggers. But just a request to be mindful about comments suggesting that it’s a thing of the past and life is back to normal.
I am here for all of it. There are posts I love and posts that don’t appeal to me and I continue to come back for the past 8 years. Can’t wait to see what content you put out in 2022 I’m sure it will inspire me as always.
A mentor gave me a three-question series to answer and contemplate when I first started my own business:
1. What do you want your life to be like overall? Think freely, both broadly and very specific.
2. What financial resources does that require?
3. What business options will allow you to generate those revenues?
Entrepreneurs often start with questions about their business, which immediately restricts the choices available to us.
When we work for ourselves (instead of being employed by others), we should use that freedom to ensure we first create the life that matters most to us and then align our business choices with that overall intention.
I love this post and am here for all of it!
thank you for sharing, I’ve been in the same state and this post was refreshing to see from someone I have followed for years. I’m not a fan of all your content, however, I keep coming back each day since there is so much to enjoy and learn from. The Dec. 31 101 on blowdrying hair was a total shock for me, I typically skip the grooming/clothing content . . . I revisited the post as I prepared for a night of celebration and I’ll probably repeat it until it becomes practice. Thank you all for continuing to surprise me, sharing your processes and keeping things real in these challenging times.
This is wonderful! Of course we can’t please all the people all the time, and we’ll go crazy if we try to. Just keep doing your thing, cuz most of us love it. (Or most of us love most of it, which is I think the most anyone could hope for, haha). Happy 2022 to you!
Thank you Emily (and team!). I found your blog this year after hearing you on Second Life and it is a daily treat. In fact, my husband just had emergency surgery on Thursday and this is my first chance to sit down. SO, I am eating my soup from a friend & reading your site for some personal time. That is how much I love it here. . Xoxo
Well said and we’ll done! I love this.
This morning I went through my insta feed and unfollowed everyone whose perfection makes me feel like my house and my life is not enough. I kept following you (and Orlando, and other EHD alums) because you bring such a welcome mix of inspiration and groundedness. Thank you and looking forward to 2022!
I have LOVED the direction of your blog this last 2 years. I love the fashion/hair posts, the house posts, the trend posts. If it’s not of interest to me, I move on. But there’s much more of interest these days! Signed: A 58 year old woman from Toronto, Canada.
PS. Been following you for a decade
Imperfect is the new perfect! Your honesty and quirkiness are endearing and much more relatable than expensively produced interior shots (though I do love those too). I check your blog nearly every day but I skipped reading the sauna blanket review!
I can really relate to the anxiety of renovation, currently on my 4th personal home reno and writing checks for many thousands of dollars, hoping I’m making the right choices – well, to be honest, it requires a large amount of wine and watching old movies for comfort. But here we are! Here’s hoping 2022 is full of goodness, better options, more love, more community!
Absolutley amazing. Thank you for not giving in to the ridiculous pressure, but for also striving to be the best you all can be. We come here for that, not for perfection. LOVE IT.
EH, Out of all the humans doing what you do, the EHD team does it better than nearly anybody out there. Your content in 2020-21 has been a touchstone & a lifeline for many many people. Thank you for your refreshing honesty (throughout pandemic & in this post) and keep up the great work.
I am *loving* the high/low mix, and I think it has taken you and the team to a more interesting place. A massive thank you and all the best for a brighter 2022.
Happy New Year, Emily and team. Long time daily reader here (since the beginning). A lot of the posts do not pertain to me but I still enjoy reading your blog every day. Glad you discovered that you can’t please everyone every day but I often cringe at the negative comments, which are so mean. Can’t wait to see more on the progress of the farm renovation.
Thank you to all of your team and contributors. I look forward to all you bring to us this year. I read all the posts, because I’m surprised by finding something I didn’t think I originally needed to hear or to see. I also love the stories. Good luck with embracing imperfections and uncertainty. I’m on that journey, too.
Here for it! ❤️
