On Friday (yep, this review is FRESH!), Mallory and I had the pleasure of finally getting to touch and feel a ton of the Quince home line. I mean, we jumped at the chance because all of us are curious if their furniture and homewares are as good as the clothes and accessories. Their stylist actually came up and told us that she loved how we were touching and really inspecting everything, lol. And look, was it at the beautiful Sunset Tower Hotel in West Hollywood, where we were fed delicious Matcha and perfectly gooey cookies? Yes. But we promise that we didn’t let the warm hospitality and peak LA views sway our honest feelings about these products. But here’s the overall consensus… It’s good. We have some thoughts and things to note that I’ll get to, but all in all, we were impressed. Let’s start with their best-selling sectional…

Sectional | Blanket | Rug | Coffee Table
This is their Ashford Deep Seat L Sectional in Performance Velvet. Overall, it’s beautiful and pretty comfortable. We loved the shape, wide arms, and the accent pillows, but it is deep. So perfect for cuddling up and watching a movie, but if you have a hard time getting up from deeper seats, it might not be the perfect fit.

We also loved the color of this performance velvet, but if we had to choose a fabric for this sofa, we really loved the look and feel of the performance basketweave better. Just looked more expensive and we felt laid better.

If you peeped this rug, so did we! It’s sooo pretty in person. We loved the colors, and while we didn’t take off our shoes, we did, of course, run our hands over it. It’s soft and has great structure.

Sofa | Pillow + Insert | Side Table
This is their bestselling sofa. Loved the seat depth, simple but great design, and comfortable. The back pillows were tall, but in a way we liked, and perfect for support. Again, we liked the velvet but much preferred the performance basketweave…

Lamp | Sofa | Pillows | Throw Blanket | Rug | Coffee Tables | Ruffle Bowl
See what we mean? In person, it looked more expensive, and we thought that potentially the change in fabric made it more comfortable! Don’t worry, we’ll get to the other product you see…like the nesting coffee table, so let’s chat about it. They were so pretty in person and made out of solid wood! And get this, almost all of their furniture (aside from teeny pieces) comes with free delivery AND white-glove service. I’ll get to our convo more, but we met Danielle, the head of home merchandising, and she stressed that they are really trying to cut out all of the classic pain points that other home brands haven’t (aka added fees for delivery and white-glove service). Their thought is that those fees should all be included in the price of the item. I really loved hearing that.

Here’s the performance basketweave and their leather up close. While they didn’t have any of their seating in leather, it was so soft and felt really good.

More of their fabric spread to get an idea of what the colors actually look like!

We also loved this rug. It’s in a peach color, and my camera wasn’t catching the true color (slightly muted), but the picture on their site is correct. It’s a bold peach, really pretty, and again, felt really high quality. Oh, and if you order a larger-sized rug, it also comes with white-glove service! And for a single gal like me, getting to have people come into my home and set it up without me potentially breaking my back trying to move my own furniture just to enjoy the new rug I got is huge.

Brennan Accent Chair | Throw Blanket | Swivel Chair
Here are two of their chairs. The rust one wasn’t our favorite, but the color is pretty. Just a little too stiff and upright for us, but the cushions could totally soften, and a more upright chair may be exactly what you are looking for! The swivel chair was so cute, but also on the firmer side.

Sorry for the terrible picture, but this Teddy chair was real cute and more comfortable (though not “sink in” comfortable)! I was a fan.

Bed | Euro Sham Covers + Inserts | Sheet Set + Pillow Insert | Duvet Set + Insert | Lumbar + Insert | Quilt | Rug
OK, now THIS velvet on their wingback bed was great! It’s still a performance fabric, but it felt more high-end to us. We loved it. Now, talk about the bedding…

This is something I actually have a little experience in because I bought their linen sheets (fitted and top sheet) for my bedroom reveal in the color Mist. Marlee has them too! We both really love them. They start out good and only get better after each wash. We were also told that there’s a new linen color every month, so that’s a fun little thing we learned. This bedding altogether looked so great, and the inserts are also from Quince! I made sure to touch those too and thought they were really great. Oh, and you know we are lumbar pillow people, and this one is awesome, and the quilt is so luxe.

Here’s a sampling of their bedding. Another cool fact is that you can return your sheets up to a year! Even used!

Patterned Quilt | Textured Quilt
These are part of their really great bed blankets.

This rug is perfect if it fits within your color palette, or if you tend to make huge messes:)

Bed | Sheets | Quilt | Printed Bed Blanket and Pillows
We were told this bed is SOLID, which is always a nice thing to hear (plus it’s very pretty), and here are their percale sheets. I loved how soft the patterned comforter and shams were. How sweet is that print??

These pillows are basically a dupe for the RJ ones Em uses all of the time. Just make sure to get the feather down pillow inserts.

We were very excited about how soft and cozy the blankets were…trust me, we touched them all.

See? No leaf unturned:) But really, let’s get into these pieces.

Chair | Dining Table | Lamp | Tray
I loved how wide and comfortable this chair was! It’s technically a dining chair even though this is a desk setup, but the boucle is performance, and you could easily sit in it for hours, eating and chatting. The table too was so pretty with a solid wood base and real marble.

The details on this sideboard were subtle but made the piece sing – great joinery and how good is that rounded interior door corner?

Table | Dining Chair | Runner | Bowl | Plate | Drinking Glass | Flateware | Napkin | Rug
Not to keep singing their praises, but it was a beautiful setup with beautiful pieces! The table is solid wood, and so is the base of the chair. The chair was comfortable and wide (and half the price of the Crate and Barrel ones). I really like the white, but I hope they start offering more colors. The ceramic dinnerware is all from East Fork, which is an incredible brand we love. Arlyn has been collecting their sets for years, and I can attest to how great they are to eat off of (aesthetically and functionally :)). Oh, and I also realllly loved the slender shape of the gold flatware.

Can you tell we were having a lot of fun? 😉

Ok, back to business. The table linens were also amazing, and look at those East Fork platters! How could you not love serving your guests with these?

These bowls have Emily’s name written allll over them (I mean, she owns very similar ones). They felt and looked so beautiful, and I really want all 3 sizes.

Now let’s head outside (especially since it’s almost summer!). We were impressed with the outdoor furniture. Style-wise, this set is awesome. Simple with wide arms, Sunbrella fabric, and SOLID TEAK, which is the only wood Emily stands by to withstand the elements year-round. Oh, and this is where we met Danielle and chatted for a while. First off, not only does this furniture come with free white glove but they also all come with covers that are meant to fit each piece if you want to use them. What a dream! No extra charge for a cover or having to blindly search the internet for something that might or might not fit. Oh, and there are mesh drainage panels beneath each cushion (as shown above) to keep those cushions fresh and looking good.

These swivel! When she told us, I think Mal and I in unison said “OHHHH!” and immediately started spinning. Danielle was also adamant that she tries everything in her home before it goes on the site to really make sure it’s good enough, and I really loved that. This set is still at her family’s vacation home in Maine, which gets lots of weather, and she says they’ve held up so great. Look, I know she’s head of merchaniding but I truly beleived her. She was so kind and smart!
WAIT! She also said that even for “custom” pieces, you can return them if you are unhappy with a small restocking fee. That’s almost unheard of and so cool.

Another beautiful outdoor set and a great rug that comes in a lot of other colors. No notes.

Curved All-Weather Wicker Lounge Chair
Em just raved about her all-weather rattan furniture, so we’re adding this one to the list of good and durable outdoor options. Plus, it was truly so comfortable.

Minérale Candle | Bois de Santal Candle
In case you were curious about their candles and scents, these two were our favorites, but I don’t remember a bad one. I LOVE that they are so affordable too!

That’s the review! I really hope it was helpful, and I think that Quince is a site you should be putting in your online home shopping rotation. Did I mention that their sofas and beds are made in the US? I really was impressed hearing about the true care that goes into making this company as serviceable as possible to their customers. It shows in the style, quality, pricing, and common sense perks.
Love you, mean it.
The quilt that looks just like the school house quilt makes me uncomfortable. I don’t think I’d notice other similar situations because I’m not super in tune with current designs. Did you notice other items that were clearly lifted from other brands or designers?
They do a lot of dupes. Many of their purses are direct knock offs of Clare V, Polene, etc. but frankly so are Target’s and Anthropologie’s. I’m not super comfortable with the direct knocks offs, but I also have mixed feelings about the fact that many people can’t afford the originals and there is so much mark up on these things.
I do like the Quince bedding, but I bought it on major mark down for Black Friday two years ago and don’t think all their prices are worth full price. That said, the sheets have held up well and were half the cost of Parachute. These days, I have so little brand loyalty I just go with whatever I can get the best deal on in similar categories.
It’s worth doing a deep dive (no specifics that I try to write here get through the filter).
Same (re:filter). It would be worth understanding the Quince practices behind manufacturing said dupes and smaller designers’s designs.
Quince’s entire business model is “duping.” They find where successful products are made, work directly with those factories, and then sell extremely similar items (that are slightly lower quality in my experience), at a significantly lower price. They even have a direct call out to the brands they are undercutting called “beyond compare” on each item’s page. That quilt is 100% originally brought to use by school house and Quince doesn’t try to hide it. My understanding is they can do this by cutting out all the “extra costs/markup” the original brands are often charging you for. Think retail rent and personnel costs, extensive advertising, “free” fast shipping, etc. I used to think *job stability* and *employee benefits* were what we were paying “markup” towards, because thats a world I want to live in – one where both consumers _and_ creators can maintain a decent quality of life. But now I suspect “markup” goes straight to corporate overlords squeezing every last penny from everything until everyone has to start over. Sigh. I have very mixed feelings and think it often comes down to what the item is for me. Because on one hand, YES creativity and design and beauty and… Read more »
There’s also the venture capitalist aspect of it all… and the promotion of excess consumption. Some good posts have been written elsewhere on this company.
good to know! can you share links?
The filter does not allow links through.
Reader comments like these are why I still come to this blog every day!
that is so kind, thank you E! 🙂
at first i laughed at myself for writing something that long about quince, and almost deleted it before publishing. but just now seeing your comment, i realized i feel the same and you totally made my day haha.
the reason i come here (almost daily since brass petal, even though I rarely comment anywhere online) is for more honesty and real people’s perspectives delivering the design content i love. the quality of the content then attracts more informed and more civil commenters that add awesome layers. the result puts EHD in a class of its own imho.
yay for this lovely corner of the internet <3 😀
Just a note for the writers – no need to publish – you might want to edit the title and change “this” to these.
We actually just bought a leather sectional from Quince. Agree that the leather is super soft and feels great. We are happy with the quality and look. There were some shipping issues but we were happy with the resolution after we let them know. Overall recommend!
Thank you so much for this comprehensive round-up, Jess! I’ve been a Quince clothing customer for 5 years and wondered about their home goods. Currently I have my eye on the floral jacquard coverlet and shams and wonder how they compare to Schoolhouse’s. I totally missed their sale and had wanted that quilt.
I can answer this – subjectively, of course. My sister has the Quince version and I have the Schoolhouse version. The Quince is very pretty and good quality – if I’d seen it in real life first I’d probably have gone for it. BUT Schoolhouse is much softer, higher quality fabric. The stitching is gorgeous and the details like the rounded edges and heavy weight are a class of their own.
Thank you, Sonya! Maybe I will try the shams first and see what I think. I had hesitated on the Schoolhouse Stillwater because I was concerned about colors running, but now I regret waiting. I do like the Quince lighter colorways, though.
GORGEOUS GORGEOUS GALS!!! i feel like i was there!!!
Hoping they add their furniture line to the Canadian site!
hi, there’s a typo in the headline! 🙂
I love Quince! Everything that I’ve purchased from clothing and for my home has been such high-quality! I have a wish list a mile long!
We purchased the Quince sectional in performance velvet in February. So far it is wearing great and is super comfortable. I love the matching ottoman, because it’s not enormous and is easy to move around. We decided on the lovely color “pine” which is probably more blue than I expected, but I do like it. You can order free fabric swatches. The Quince sectional has been a great experiment so far–10/10 would recommend!
Very helpful and insightful post. Looking forward to reading more from you.
So very helpful!! I’ve been wondering about the quality of their home goods. Thank you so much for the review! So glad you guys had fun!
