It’s Sunday and Happy Lunar New Year!! A couple of big shoots happened this week at the farmhouse so get ready for some exciting reveals coming to a blog near you! To help with the wait, let’s just get straight into this week’s links…
This week’s home tour (shown above) is actually not a full house tour but a truly beautiful kitchen designed by none other than EHD favorite, deVOL Kitchens. The home itself is actually an ancient barn that has been carefully restored. We can’t decide what’s our favorite design element…the stunning brick floor, the cabinetry, the natural beams?? What’s yours?? Head to deVOL to see the rest of the photos and we can’t recommend enough watch For the Love of Kitchens on HBO Max or Discovery+. It’s the best.
From Emily: I know this is kinda cheating because I wrote an entire post about it yesterday but my link this week is my sauna blanket. It’s one of the best things I do for myself. If you’re curious read about it here🙂
From Jess: One Christmas present that my dad got for me that I love is this wall mount! I’m not sure how I’m going to use it yet but it’s going to add a really cool 3-D element to whatever wall I put it on.
Also From Jess: My best friend got me this candle and I really like it. It’s the perfect transitional candle from holiday winter into regular winter. It still stirs up cozy feelings but with woodsy lavender/vanilla instead of pinecones and cinnamon. Plus it’s so pretty!
From: Mallory: Skincare generally intimidates me a lot and for that reason, it’s not something I typically splurge on, but I got this set as a gift for Christmas and I am shocked at how much I love it and actually use it!! It’s an easy 4 step process and the products are really really good (I’m especially a fan of the under-eye cream). If you’re in the market for some new skincare, this is an awesome set for $35, and it’s a great way to try the products out without a huge initial investment.
From Caitlin: I’m currently obsessed with fun needlepoint pillows (anyone else?) and I just ordered a pink and orange pair that I’m so excited about!!! They’re from a small business in Texas, they shipped much quicker than anticipated, and the price is UNBEATABLE. I say this as a person who spent about $110 bucks back in 2017 on the now-famous Furbish Studio “got it all together but I forgot where I put it” needlepoint pillow – it was worth the splurge and I still love it, but dang, it feels great to find the look for about half the price:) Hoping they make it into one of my reveals this year!
From Ryann: If you have ever opened Tik Tok you have probably seen the now viral Stanley mugs that every Gen Z and Millenial influencer has. And these influencers deserve a proverbial raise because I found myself ready to hit purchase until I saw they are $50 and basically sold out of every color. So I gave up on the dream until I was wandering through Target and saw this. It’s a Stanley mug dupe and I am sure not as heavy duty, but it’s the same size and idea AND half the price. So I bought it and I now have to run to the bathroom every hour on the hour because of how much water I am drinking. Big fan.
That’s it for today and we will “see” your beautiful faces tomorrow. xx

Jess, the gallery at the wall mount link is full of amazing and beautiful ideas. I’m a huge fan of mounting big branches on my walls, but I either put up with the non aesthetic look of plastic Command hooks and shiny fishing line, or gamble on a few well-placed nails for support and pray the thing does not come crashing down. This device looks gorgeous as well as safe. Can’t wait to see how you put yours to use!
I’m very intrigued by the floor in the home tour. I have a rental apartment and recently learned that below my tile floor is a brick floor. I’m curious if it would be workable to go back to the brick (the tile is just laid down, no mortar holding anything down or together) because I think it could be unique. But would be hard to keep clean!
Ajai did two posts about her brick flooring: https://stylebyemilyhenderson.com/blog/fast-and-affordable-kitchen-remodel and https://stylebyemilyhenderson.com/blog/pros-and-cons-of-brick-floors
What a great find! Do it!
Never, will I ever, have a brick floor in my kitchen (or anywhere) again! It’s hard to even try to clean it, and it will never be clean.
That was my first thought as well. It looks gorgeous though …
Tip for jars…break the seal gently with the hook part of a can opener and the lid opens easily. No need for tapping on counters.
I use a wide elastic band to get a good grip around the lid and that does the trick for me!
I’m on season 2 of For the Love of Kitchens. Such a great inspirational show. Plus it’s as cozy and comforting as the Great British Bakeoff. No fake stress, no tensions for the camera, just skilled people solving kitchen design problems in homes large and small. Highly recommend.
Also, fyi, I just ordered a 40 oz Stanley in a pretty blue so they are in stock again. It’s my second and they are worth the money, IMO. It’s the only water bottle I have and the only one I need. I donated all the rest of mine.
Can you say more about what you love about it? What makes it so good? Thanks.
It’s huge. It has a sturdy handle. It’s keeps the temp for hours. Plus the bottom is narrower so it fits in the car cup holder (a lot of the super large water bottles don’t fit into a car cupholder).
Please fix the Stanley typo in the title 😄
I know, it’s killing me!!!!
Does anybody on the team proofread?
Hard agree. My middle schoolers are better about proofing their assignments.
Or … you could recognize that it’s Sunday and people are not working today, and just let it go.
They put up a post on a Sunday, presumably because they want their audience to read, comment. But sure, LouAnn.
1, this is a professional business, they should have proofreaders. They misspelled Stanley and wrote “mud” instead of “mug.” IN THE TITLE. That’s embarrassing.
2, if they post on Sunday, then they’re working on Sunday. Doesn’t matter if they scheduled it ahead of time.
I usually skip these. I only read it bc I was like wait, what? Stanley Mud? Maybe a new bizarre self care trend?
So maybe leaving the typo up is working for them?
🤣🤣🤣
I too assumed Stanely Mud was some new expensive face mask or something that influencers must be raving about but that I’d missed. I was quite pleased with myself when I got to the bottom of the post and realized I DID know of the product being duped 😂
I have two of those Reduce mugs from target but slightly smaller and I am absolutely obsessed, have never related to anything more than the comment about peeing so much cause I’m drinking so much more water lol
Hi Emily & Team! I’m a long-time American reader living in Europe (I’m the one who recently picked Brian’s favorite watercolor blue wallpaper for my townhouse but couldn’t upload a pic). I’m a professional proofreader with 15 years of experience and certification in Editing from the University of Chicago Graham School. I would be thrilled to talk with you about my proofreading services, which could give you a great productivity boost! My time zone is 9 hours ahead of PST, which would be an advantage given your posting timelines. Since my day job is in the educational/NGO sector I don’t have a website at the moment, but I would love to chat about possibilities. I think I could take a small burden off the shoulders of your wonderful team!
The Biossance Squalane Vit C and Rose Oil is my favorite. Use it everyday on my chest, neck and face!!
