Someday, I hope whatever legacy I leave behind on this earth will reflect my deep love for finding vintage treasures on Etsy (which might not be hard to achieve considering how often I write about it). Browsing Etsy is a beloved hobby of mine that gives me comfort and so much joy. It really is my happy place as far as online shopping goes, which may not come as a shock to some. It’s not like it’s the only online resource out there that offers curated vintage furniture, decor, and clothing nor is it the only place to buy handmade things and support small businesses. But the magic of Etsy is that it has all of those things in one stop. It’s a place I’ll go to find a personalized gift for my Maid of Honor and while I am checking out I may as well get those vintage Levi’s that I’ve been eyeing. Truly, there are few things I love more than finding the perfect vintage piece that I’ve been searching for and with Etsy, I always feel like I’ve struck gold. The “ever dream craft” vase/vessel that’s so popular at the moment reminds me of a drinking vessel I made in ceramics; only where the open circle part is there’s a hollow round to hold the water/wine.
I reproduced it from an image of Mesopotamian drinking vessels.
I burnished it (rubbed it with a ceramic tool for aeons to make it kinda glow) and then carved a design into it, before firing in charcoal, which gave it a unique finish.
The idea of the top opening with t5ge two side hollowed parts was to stop insects from entering – they don’t want to go down a dark tunnel!
If I ever personally lay my eyes and hands on one of these vases, I’m going to buy it, if I can afford it, because of the ancient shape. Very cool. (I’d love an aqua-glazed one).

I love this list! I have already discovered Dejavu Decors and check in with the Etsy store regularly for its well-priced (affordable) vintage furniture. We adore the large Hollywood Regency dresser I purchased there a couple of years ago!
I LOVE Etsy! I’ve bought many things on Etsy. But I’m going to put in a plug for Studio Tokek. The owner, Esther, lives in the Netherlands and she makes original prints, stamps, cards, etc. She carves custom stamps as well. I had her make a stamp for my nephew’s wedding that we were going to use to stamp on the gift bags for the guests. I gave her some ideas as to what I was thinking about and she came up with a wonderful design. The wedding was cancelled last April due to Covid. It has been rescheduled for this year and I reached out to Esther again and she made a new one with the new wedding date on it. The quality of her design and carving is excellent, she communicates every step of the way. The stamp came beautifully packaged in a little cloth bag that she printed with the stamp.
