Happy Sunday, everyone! We hope everyone had a great Mother’s Day in whatever way you could. We also hope you’re ready for a really wonderful project we’re introducing tomorrow! We know that’s a bit of a tease, but here are this week’s links to hold you over until then:)
This week’s house tour is a solid contender for the favorite hour tour of the year! Yond Interiors truly does some of the most stunning layered, more neutral, but pattern-filled projects, and this one is no different. It’s hard to pick a favorite element, but don’t miss the tile:)

From Emily: I am going to write a whole post about my favorite day trips from Portland (I’m becoming an expert), but I want to get this out there now for all those who like to plan as I do. For Mother’s Day, I planned my perfect weekend, which involved Devil Wears Prada 2 (liked it and yet disappointed – wrote about it on Substack), followed by a quick 36 hours up the gorge in Hood River. We did the Hood River Rail bike ride, which was a 10/10 of fun. It’s splurgy (think nice theater tickets), but it’s 3 1/2 hours of active, outdoor, and yet easy family fun. The views were incredible (over rivers/bridges, along streams, mountain views), you stopped halfway for wine and an ice cream, and the kids felt like it was a ride since it’s an electric assist (turbo!). Then we stayed at The Society in Bingen, which has a whole Scandi hydrotherapy circuit that the kids loved (hot tub, cold plunge, sauna, repeat). The next day we did the up-hill Mosier Plateau wildflower hike (kids did NOT like the uphill part), which was incredible and such a great way to spend a morning (took an hour and 1/2, 3.5 miles. We finished at our favorite post-hike lunch spot, Sugar Pine (the best soft serve), which had the longest line I’ve ever waited in, in my life (45 minutes to order, another 45 minutes for food), but it’s such a charming place to be that we didn’t mind (I guess Mother’s Day is their busiest day of the year, LOL). After that, I read my book in the backyard (slamming through Yesteryear – book + kindle) and watched The Greatest Showman with the kids. But the gorge y’all, this is your reminder to get 45 minutes out of town and see what I think is one of the most spectacular places on the planet. Hood River FTW (this is also your reminder to plan your own Mother’s Day :)) We are celebrating my mom (and my dad’s bday) today with a BBQ at our house, which worked better for everyone’s schedule 🙂
From Jess: It was time for a new body wash, so I decided to try Naturium. It’s an affordable skincare line that people seem to really love! This one, The Multi-Peptide Advanced Body Wash, and this one, The Glow Getter Multi-Oil Hydrating Body Wash, were the two standouts that I’ve seen. I went for the multi-peptide one because I don’t think my skin loves a ton of oils, but for those that like them, that one seems awesome. I figure that since I spend a lot of money on my face’s skin, maybe it’d be worth trying a body wash that may do a little more for me. The lather is rich, it’s fragrance-free (so good for sensitive skin, which is echoed in the reviews), and the ingredients get me very excited:) Plus, it’s only $18 for almost 17oz. I’ll take it!
From Gretchen: I’m sure most of you have heard about Nuuly–a monthly clothing rental subscription that lets you pick out certain looks each month to wear and return (or buy and keep). But did you know that stores like Anthropologie actually work with Nuuly to resell some of these items once the styles have been retired? Now, I’m not normally the gambling type, and you kind of need to be when things are “final sale”, but when I saw these Pilcro jeans marked down more than 80%, I took my chances. And luckily, it paid off! The jeans fit great and seemed to be in “like new” condition. Not all reviews have said the same, though, so do proceed with caution when shopping. I figured jeans were a pretty safe bet, versus a sweater that could potentially arrive with snags or pilling. But I gotta say, I was super pleased with what I received! Hot tip: search up the item’s name in Nuuly to see real customer reviews and photos before you buy. I knew exactly what size to order in the jeans because of that feedback, and also discovered which items to pass on in my cart.
From Marlee: Almost exactly a year ago, I shared a 6-month Quince linen bedding review with y’all (5 stars at the time), and with all the Quince chatter on the blog recently, I figure I’m due for an update. I’ve now been using the Linen Duvet and the Linen Sheet Set for 1.5 years, and I haven’t slept with any other bedding during that time. I can confirm it holds up – in fact, it’s only getting better! Like any linen, it’s certainly a little stiff at first, but it totally softens up after a few washes. Now that I’ve had mine for 1.5 years, it is VERY soft, and no signs of pilling or wear & tear. I have the linen duvet in mist and the sheet set in aloe, which I believe they discontinued, but there are similar greens available. My sister has the dusty mauve color, and it’s very pretty in person. I’ve had family/friends visit, and they always comment on how comfortable my bedding is! It’s still an investment, but it’s significantly more affordable than a lot of bedding out there and is so worth it considering that you use it every single night.
From Caitlin: These soft, fleece-y barreled cool sweatpants came into my life at some point last year, and I’m going to level with you: they are the only pants I want to wear. (To be fair, I’m still living out of the suitcase I packed last October, so my pickings are pretty limited.) But still – I have four pairs of sweats in this house (two from Gap, one from Target) yet these are my favorites, bar none. They’re unbelievably comfortable, the fleece feels like a warm hug for your leg, and I’ve found that they still aren’t too heavy despite the rapidly warming temperatures. Most of my sweats scream “I’M SWEATPANTS,” so I love that the elevated shape of these doesn’t make me feel like a total schlub when I’m running to Wawa or Lowes. I throw them in the wash once a week, and they wear like a dream – throw them on your Memorial Day wishlist if you’re in the market for some cozy clothes!
From Arlyn: I’ve already professed my love of the easiest way to up my daily fiber content, but I felt it was time for a gentle reminder (i.e., TOUGH LOVE GET MORE FIBER, PEOPLE!). During my move, I kind of abandoned all the things I knew made me feel good and taken care of, but I’m slowly regaining my self-control and discipline. So on my most recent trip to the market, I picked up some Olipop again. It was recommended to me a year ago, or so, by my dietician, whom I trust deeply, and for me, it’s been awesome. It adds about 9 grams of fiber to my diet every day I drink it, and it doesn’t upset my stomach. Some people complain that the root mix it contains is bothersome, so you just need to test it. Most grocery stores sell them individually, so try just one or two before going all in on a pack because they can be pricey. My favorite flavors so far: Orange Squeeze, Classic Grape, Vintage Cola, Cherry Cola. There are even some new ones I haven’t tried yet!
From Mallory: Remember in 2020 when everyone was getting standing desks and walking pads?? Well, it took me 6 years to hop on board, BUT IT HAS CHANGED MY LIFE. Sitting for 8 hours straight can be rough on the body, and while I love to get outside and go for a walk (and I still will), it can be time-consuming to do every day, and ya girl has gotta get stuff done! When I moved into my boyfriend’s house, he had a standing desk downstairs, so I’d been thinking of snagging a walking pad for a while now. Then a girl at my gym was raving to me about this one (locker room convos lol), and I was surprised to find it was under $150…so I thought, why not try it out? YOU GUYS, IT ROCKS. It has a handlebar you can bring up if you don’t want to use it with the standing desk, but then it folds down, so it’s easier to store. Now the first question everyone asks me is “can you actually type on that thing,” and the answer is: I’m writing this as I’m getting my steppies in, so YES. I will say there’s a bit of a learning curve, but once you get the hang of it, you can really just lock in, and I find myself being so much more productive each day. If you’re like me and you’ve been wanting to move your body more for your mental health but aren’t sure where you’d find the time, this is a real game-changer!!
Thanks for stopping by and see you tomorrow!! xx

I’d gently push back on the idea of it being better to plan your own mother’s day. Be honest with your partner about what you’d like, yes, but many women are responsible for planning every aspect of their family’s lives and a day when someone else plans something feels special. Quietly waiting to be disappointed isn’t the goal, of course, but it’s okay to tell your partner you want them to plan something ____ (relaxing, adventurous, family together, time away for you, etc).
