PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE WATCH IT, TELL YOUR FRIENDS TO WATCH IT, TWEET IT, TELL YOUR FRIENDS TO TWEET IT.  BLOG ABOUT IT.  FRIENDSTER IT. MYSPACE IT. LINK IT IN FOR GODS SAKE.  I’M SORRY I’M SHOUTING, BUT I’M JUST SO EXCITED AND I WANT PEOPLE TO WATCH OR ELSE BAD THINGS HAPPEN.  ITS ALSO WEIRD THAT I’M ACTUALLY SHOUTING WHILST WRITING THIS.!!!

OK, back to where i was conceived:

I was conceived on a waterbed.  It just donned on me.  This is not a small revelation, my dear friends. No sah. This actually makes my life make sense.  I’m better than ok with it. I’m ecstatic.  Its better than a car.  Or a bunkbed.  Or a plantstand.  It’s actually super appropriate for me, being obsessed with icons of the 70’s since i was young.  I was Jane Fonda and Farrah Fawcett many times for halloween whilst growing up, by choice.  It’s like it seeped into my skin and brain and hormones and design style.  I love the good versions of every decorating style, but my design-heart is in english countryside/victorian era meets 70’s hippie glam.  My family is english and i was made on a waterbed.  Life is starting to make sense.

yup.

Ok. i don’t exactly look like that (and that might be 1960’s because i couldn’t find a pic of 1970’s Jane Fonda)  But its the general vibe that i’ve always been obsessed with.

Jonathan Adler yumminess.

Kelly Wearstler perfection.

The Parker Palm Springs, design by my man, Jonathan Adler.

An all time favorite, above.  the macrame.  the ball fringe.  total bohemian perfection. speaking of ball fringe:

via coco and kelley.

this photo is one of my favorites in the history of photos.  i’m not kidding.  i think about it daily.  I blogged about it here, like 2 years ago and i can’t get it out of my mind.  It has the traditionally tufted sofa mixed with the hanging wicker chair mixed with that insanely ‘get out of my mind, please let me sleep i can’t stop thinking about you’ ball fringe room divider thing.  i’ve tried to find that thing for years.  i need that piece of beautifully made fabric and fringe combo to keep on living.

Some people obsess about the fact that they never got to see The Beach Boys perform back in the day (me…Sloop John B is one of my favorite songs) but I obsess about not having this room be in my home.

And that my friends is why being conceived in a waterbed is worth it.

Thank god i wasn’t conceived in a 1994 sectional:

yeah.  cut to 10 years from now when 1994 design is totally back in and i’m all, ‘whoops, sorry….the 90’s were rad’.  But for now, lets hear it for the 70’s.

But seriously, where were you conceived?
