It’s so weird. I was at the ER yesterday dealing with some abdominal issues and the doctor told me the only remedy was thrifting. He said, “Ma’am, I need you to follow my strict orders and do nothing except sleep in and shop at least eight to ten hours a day.” Yes, sir.
So instead of going home today to LA, I’m staying in Portland and I’m going to shop the hell out of this town and surrounding areas. I’m talking McMinnville, Tigard, Sellwood … Every antique mall, thrift store, or home store will be visited. Pieces will be shopped for, purchased, and shipped home.
Look, it’s the doctors orders.
I always have to rush home from Portland and never get a chance to just chill here and enjoy the city as if I live here. It’s always a whirlwind of friends and family commitments, which is great, obviously, but sometimes you just want to walk around and touch every vintage accessory within a 30 mile radius without feeling guilty.
So thank you for all the Portland suggestions. I’ve done a lot of them and I have three more days to finish.
We have a whole slew of new blog stuff happening starting next week, but this week might need to be just for me … and my abdomen.
