My friend Ian’s house is still one of my very favorites, possibly even THE favorite. He’s brimming — nay EXPLODING with personality — and his home represents it. It’s warm without being too feminine, comfortable without being too masculine, layered without being too cluttered, and intelligent without being too pretentious. I did his house for the pilot episode of “Secrets From A Stylist,” where I dubbed his style “FDR Chic.” He’s a combo of early 1900’s antiques mixed with ’60s Beatles-inspired vintage pieces, and topped off with some global accents to represent his laid back traveler vibe. It’s a mix of old and new, serious and whimsical, and perfectly represents his personality, if I do say so myself.
