  1. Handmade, for sure. I know exactly what goes into them and can avoid chemicals I'm not comfortable with.

  2. Dina

I always use store bought detergent. I have never made or used homemade detergent. This would be a great opportunity! Thanks so much! :)

  3. keri

typically store bought, but I'm open to anything in such a pretty package!

  4. Megan

I'm a store-bought girl. As much as the idea of using homemade sounds good to me, I've yet to try it. Mrs. Jones' soap sounds lovely!

  5. Huette

In an ideal world everything would be homemade. In this world I go for store bought cleaners that feel like homemade ones. I like cleaners that have essential oils and fresh scents that don't rely on chemicals. Happy cleaning!

  6. I would love to win this soap and try it out!! I have never tried homemade soap before, but I could see myself becoming addicted as the funds increase in the future!

  7. Is it okay to admit that I've never tried homeade laundry detergent – man, I've been missing out! I'll have to get right on that!

  8. brigette

I love the idea of handmade but I will admit that I don't but would love to! I do try to find cleaners with no sulfates, parabens, etc.

  9. Hmmm…what a fantastic idea! I've been keeping my eye out for a fantastic handmade detergent, though I haven't yet tried one. Maybe this will be my lucky day :)

  10. Cporoski

I love handmade but don't hve the time to do it myself.

  11. I always buy store bought detergent. My sister-in-law makes her own, and I'm pretty intrigued by it. If I can use handmade detergent, but not have to make it myself, I'm on board!

  12. if there's one thing i hate, it's the cost of laundry detergent. i buy the cheapest store brand i can find and grumble all the way to the check out. when my hair lady accidentally got hair dye on my best friend's sweater – in a moment of hilarious, unruly laughter in the hair chair, i immediately obeyed my hair lady's instruction and ran across the street to the grocery and searched for fels naptha. THAT led to an entire discussion of homemade detergent. my eyes have been opened. when this bottle of crummy, lavender scented target detergent runs out, i'm making my own!

    unless, of course, i win.

  13. PinggPanther

This is the conundrum. We all know it's better to know what chemicals, dyes, essential oils we're all exposing our skin to but who has time to work a full day, take care of family and make their own laundry detergent…Until there's an extra hour in the day and extra day in the week i'll be sticking to store-bought stuff.

  14. I've always used store bought, but I'm definitely interested in homemade. This particular detergent sounds awesome! I'd love to give it a try.

  15. DK

All about the handmade. Knowing the ingredients adds a little more ease to my life. (And great packaging helps!)

  16. Megan

Definitely homemade, but I have been slow to get my act together and start making my own detergent. This is the next best thing!

  17. Kerry

I've been using store bought but more eco friendly things (7th Generation, Method, etc), but have been looking at how to make my own at home lately.

  18. Michelle

With twin 16 month olds, I am very conscious of what products I use to clean around our house, but with that said, I don't quite have the time to make my own (although that seems like a worthwhile project). Instead, I buy only natural products to clean our house, but sometimes good ones are hard to find. Thanks for posting this contest, Emily!

  19. Brandy

I typically use store bought but I'd like to start using more natural items for my family. This sounds like a great item. :)

  20. Katie

So far it's been store bought, mainly because I don't know how to make my own cleaning supplies. But I'm certainly willing to learn!

  21. Ann

I use mostly Mrs. Myers cleaning products, which I like to think are close to what I would make if I were organized enough to make my own. However, I've never tried a detergent like this though! Would love to give it a try, and the packaging is just icing on the cake. :-)

  22. Laura

I guess I like store bought cleaners better (by default) because I have never used homemade ones! I'd love to try it though! :)

  23. Laura

    I tweeted this giveaway!

  24. Aimee

I prefer the handmade stuff as it doesn't smell nasty and scary, but usually by the time I can get around to cleaning, I need the big guns. I like to use white vinegar when I can, especially around food areas. That way I know it's safe.

  25. emily

I love making my own cleaning products–but I also buy store stuff. I use Mrs. Meyers lots. But I also use Vinegar in pretty much everything–especially laundry. I would love to try Mrs. Jones concoction. What an awesome way to add some luxury to your life…

  26. Bri

I've never used homemade laundry detergent, but I'd love to give it a try! I use store bought cleaners, but I'm trying to reduce that in favor of things like vinegar and baking soda. Thanks for hosting this giveaway Emily!

  27. I am a clean freak… needless to say I am the first one to go out and buy the 'latest and greatest' cleaning product to feed my OCD hunger! When cleaning I like to liven up the senses… this always involves blasting music and lighting candles. I love the smell of clean laundry… I have tried different natural detergents that I use on towels and bed linens only… It feels extra special to have something smell so wonderful next to your skin. I would love to try this product!

  28. Nicole

    love love love handmade!

  29. Eric

I didn't even know there was hand made – I'd love to try it!

  30. Stephanie

handmade soaps are made with love !

  31. Elizabeth

Thanks for this giveaway! I buy from the store, but try to buy the "better" versions- except for dishwasher detergent. I CANNOT find a "green" one that works even half as well as the regular brands!

  32. Sarah

I made my own homemade detergent a couple months ago and love it so far. Not only is it soo much cheaper than commercial products, but I can customize the scent and don't have to worry about icky chemicals in my baby's clothes. I'd love to try Mrs. Jones's version!

  33. Kat

A little of both. I use vinegar and baking soda for some things; otherwise, I use eco friendly, natural based detergents and cleaners. I've yet to try homemade laundry detergent, and this sounds wonderful. The packaging is cute too!

  34. Kelly

I have always used store bought detergent. It is what I've grown up with. I would definitely be interested in trying handmade though! It sounds great!!

  35. Leigh

I prefer store bought. I'm a busy mom!

  36. Debra

OMG, I am the Princess and the Pea of Detergent and this sounds so good!!!! I would prefer homemade, unless I could find something fabulous store bought.

  37. Andrea

i've never used homemade cleaning products… but i'd love too. :)

  38. Laura K, Florida

I LOVE Mrs. Jones homemade cleaning products. No worries about how it is affecting your skin! The scent is light and fresh, not overpowering and fake, like so many store bought products.

  39. Sus

I am lazy/cheap, so I always use vinegar or baking soda to clean.

  40. anna

ok lets be honest, who has time to make cleaning supplies at home? not this girl but i do swear by vinegar & water for cleaning pretty much everything. baking soda is kind of amazing too.

  41. Nali P.

Handmade of course. Anything that is less processed and chemical free is the way to go. Thank you for the giveaway!

  42. Nicole

oh man. i buy store-bought since it is so accessible and easy and inexpensive, but would prefer to always use handmade everything. i am a sucker for cute packaging and this mrs jones is so lovely! i want to win!!

  43. Mary

I want to like the homemade stuff but, dangit, Tide always seems to do the best. I'd love to give Mrs. Jones' a try!

  44. Elissa

I've never used handmade detergent, but would love to try it!

  45. I'd prefer homemade soaps, but the reality is that I work crazy hours and juggle three blogs (one work, one design, one for a charity) and can't swing it. So, I try to stick to buying from companies that are conscious of the environment and don't use too much packaging.

  56. Honestly, I prefer store bought cleaners because I hardly have the time to clean, much less make everything myself!

  57. Becca

I would like to say I have the time to make handmade, but with a toddler running around it's a lost cause. I do love me some Mrs. Meyers Basil scented anything though…especially the handsoap. It's pretty much amazing.

  58. Chris

I have always wanted to make my own but this sounds delicious!

  59. allise

Store-bought cleaning supplies are what I use. I love Mrs. Meyers basil scent. This soap sounds so heavenly!

  60. Amy

I've never tried homemade laundry soap, but I'd like to!

  61. Jessi

I've never made my own cleaning supplies, although I have read articles about doing so, and thought about doing it. Does that count? This detergent sounds lovely though!

  62. Lainie

i've never used handmade cleaning supplies besides using general baking soda, peroxide, vinegar, and rubbing alcohol for standard cleaning. i would love to try them out considering i do love all things chemical-free!

  63. Sara WW

I prefer a mix of both homemade (counter top spray and toilet cleaner) and store bought (laundry and dishwasher detergent). I love the packaging!

  64. Kari

Honestly, I have never tried handmade but I hate hate the chemical smell and have been DYING to try Mrs Jones amazing products!!! Thanks!!

  65. Handmade all the way, I just wish I had the time!

  66. I buy store bought detergent but i plan to start making our own soon.. unless i win this!

  67. Katie

I would prefer homemade but its usually just so much easier to grab cleaners from a store. Would love to try this detergent!

  68. Karen

I use store- bought out of default since I'm generally too cheap to pay for the awesome home-made stuff. I'll hang my head in shame now. I'd love to try this, it looks awesome!

  69. Colleen

I like homemade cleaning supplies because then I know they're non-toxic. Which I've been using ever since I became the proud mother of a tiny kitten.

Thanks for the opportunity to win this awesome detergent!

  70. Sally

It sounds like that would smell fantastic! I try to use homemade products because they're safer and cheaper.

  71. Colleen

    Tweeted this as well.

  72. Viv

I commend those who make their own cleaning products. I would love to learn to make my own and be more green. In the meanwhile, I go to Costco and Target for my goods. Thanks for the giveaway!

  73. kayduh

I have always used store-bought but I am tempted to try homemade!

  74. kate

ooh… might be needing to pick this up even if I don't win…. but I hope I win anyway!

  75. I have never used homemade. I prefer storebought because when I'm at the grocery store I can just pick it up. Its the convenience factor for sure!

  76. mkuplady

I would love to win this soap. I have never tried homemade laundry soap before. I tend use natural home products and this sounds very yummy!

  77. Lauren

Store bought, because I'm not that cool.

  78. Chelsey

Store Bought. I don't have time to make my own, plus there are some great products out there

  79. Emilee K.

I like homemade and have recently been making my laundry detergent. A whole lot cheaper and I know what it is in my detergent!

  80. Jenny

I definitely prefer handmade supplies, but I'm not very crafty! I rely on my crafty friends' generosity during the holidays! Fortunately, they are aware how much I appreciate them! In the meantime, I try to buy the greenest commercial products I can find…

  81. Adorable packaging. I'm going to say store-bought only because I've never attempted to make my own cleaning products before.

  82. Tracey

Ideally I would go for homemade, but I'm lazy…. so I buy the eco-friendliest store bought stuff I can find.

  83. Lex

With companies like Caldrea, Mrs. Meyers, and now Mrs. Jones Soapbox, I now prefer store-bought. The scents and ingredients they use are much better than the essential oils and cleaning agents I have found. They smell better, work better, and are earth-friendly.

So I have said bye-bye to the days of trying to be a household chemist and have never looked back!

  84. rae

i buy my detergent at the store but it is hand made by a local lady. she uses goatmilk soap in it and my laundry is always so soft! i would love to try this one!

  85. I've used both & I really like handmade, but not the work I have to do to get it. :)

  86. sarah

usual store bought but just getting into the homemade stuff. using some homemade dishwasher detergent now and you'd never know it. cute giveaway!

  87. Sarah

Store bought products mostly. I'd love to find some good recipes and try some homemade solutions

  88. Annie

I have to admit that my experience with homemade cleaning products is limited, so my default answer is "store-bought." I do try to ease my impact on the planet by buying earth-friendly products when possible though.

  89. megan

i've always done store bought, but i do always try to keep as much of my cleaning products with freaky chemicals to a minimum (ahem, toilet bowl cleaner)… typically using mrs. meyers/ method/ etc. but i must say, packaging doesn't get any better than mrs. jones soapbox, and i'd love to give it a try!

  90. Yes, I do prefer home made cleaners b/c #1 I clean ALOT, I'll admit it, I am a bit of a clean freak. My son and I live in a small town house, not very glamorous- old rental, thus the obsessive cleanliness. #2 I have a 5 year old and I let him paint, play in dirt, help me cook, so he needs alot of cleaning as do my countertops, carpet, and bathroom. #3 better for the environment/less chemical exposure in the home. Using vinegar, lemon juice is a great counter top/floor cleaner. For laundry and dishwasher, I whip up a batch of home stuff but do sometimes buy eco-friendly store products.

  91. kelly

Sign me up! :) I've never made my own… guess I'm lazy? But I'd love some that someone else made that's good! :)

  92. Jessica

I like store bought items because it's easier (and usually cheaper) to get them.

  93. kelly

    And I'm so tweeting this… :) I'm getting my clean on #SBEH with @em_henderson & @mrsjonessoapbox!

  94. David

I prefer to use mostly handmade cleaning products, so I know exactly how much of which ingredient I'm using. In terms of laundry and dishwashing, I like to try all of the more "simple" products on the market.

  95. I would love to try homemade cleaning products but our life is so busy that I stick with store bought. Thanks for the chance to win!

  96. Handmade so I know exactly what goes into them and can avoid anything I am allergic to. If I buy store bought cleaners they always need to be eco friendly and allergenic.

    * I tweeted too!

  97. Sms

Store bought for convenience and effectiveness

  98. Cami

I love handmade. I got some at one of my baby showers and it smelled so great. I was sad when I used it all. Although I don't have time to make my own, handmade laundry detergent makes a great gift.

  99. Duane

I am a big fan of natural household cleaners, but have never tried handmade detergent. I would love to give it a try.

  100. Katie

Store bought because I have never tried homemade. Hope to win and try them out!

  101. Leigh

I opt for homemade or all natural cleaners available in bulk. I don't buy plastic whenever I have an option and so take my own glass bottles to fill at the store. I love that the Mrs. Jones comes with a glass jar, beautiful to display and so much more environmentally friendly.

  102. Sydney

I've been making my own laundry detergent for a year or so now. At this point I'm still buying most of my other cleaning products. I'd love to try someone else's homemade detergent to see the comparison.

  103. Hannah May

I'm a store-bought kinda lady because it's more convenient these days but I love the idea of home-made. Better for the environment and the wallet!

  104. Paula P

It comes down to scent. I love the Mrs. Meyers products. I love the lavendar shower spray. Leaves behind such a great scent and it is super clean so it is non toxic. I have never made my own cleaning supplies ( who has time ) so I prefer store bought stuff.

  105. Wendy

I'd prefer to always use homemade, but currently use mostly store bought. I just picked up a book on how to green your cleaning and am excited to try out the recommendations. I love the packaging for Mrs. Jones Soapbox — I'm a graphic designer and am always attracted to products both lovely and natural! So great!

  106. torrie

oh my gosh, the jar alone is SO cute! but i love that it's handmade as well! i'd say i prefer handmade cleaning supplies. it just seems more…natural i guess and i naturally lean toward what's natural. thanks!!!

  107. Lindsey

I love homemade but sometimes just don't have the time for it. Store brand is ok but too expensive!

  108. Hmm… I use both but the number one cleaning product in our house is plain old vinegar and water. Second place cleaning product would have to be Mrs. Murphy's basil scented dish soap. Delish!

  109. lemurlassy

I prefer to make detergents from things that are as natural and safe to myself and the environment. The plus is that it is usually cheaper and more effective. Seriously baking soda and vinegar are pretty much the best things ever!!!

  110. Jess

I love the idea of using handmade cleaners, but no matter how many articles I read on it I don't feel as confident that things will get as clean. I've only just started using baking soda and white vinegar for more cleaning purposes. I guess I'm taking baby steps.

  111. Ashleigh

I need this. I only use Charlie's Soap, which I love – but need to mix it up! I've never tried handmade laundry detergent before. 'Tis time!

  112. Sarah

For towels, I like to use handmade stuff. But otherwise store bought is so much easier and sadly sometimes that makes all the difference.

  113. I've actually never used homemade soap, but I'd love to try.

  114. Johnna

I prefer the store bought cleansers because they always work, and it's always too difficult to find the necessary ingredients for the homemade kind.

  115. Corinna

I don't prefer store bought cleaning supplies, but they are all I have ever used. I would much rather use a handmade product and know exactly what is in it, which would likely mean a lot less chemicals.

  116. Teresa

I prefer homemade. I currently make my own laundry detergent. Vinegar is my best friend!

  117. Jolene

I've been making my own powdered laundry soap this last year – and I love it! Besides, it's super affordable. Would love to try Mrs. Jones'!

  118. Kate

I'd love to buy natural because it seems so much safer, but store bought is so much less expensive, so i'm often torn. But this is so beautiful and safe and it looks like it smells amazing!

  119. I prefer handmade cleaning products and I've made my own laundry soap on occasion but I'm out right now. I'd love to try this one out.

  120. caroline

I would love to make my own cleaning products, but I don't trust myself. We do store bought. There are lots of great options out there these days.

  121. Aneshia

I prefer handmade because it doesn't have the strong aroma of harsh chemicals… Which is a plus for me since I have a toddler running around the place.

  122. I love homemade but if I don't make my own, I try to buy brands that are ecofriendly!

  123. misa

i've only ever bought laundry detergent, but this one sounds much, much better than the one i usually use.

  124. Amanda F

A mix of both! I love making a lemon/vinegar cleaner for my bathroom but I also purchase organic cleaners.

  125. tamariga

I love handmade all natural products! I have made my own laundry soap in the past, but have gotten a little lazy lately :( I would love to try this stuff out though!

  126. Lisa

    Baking soda works great!

  127. Kristin

I use store-bought cleaners, but I buy my laundry soap online (Charlie's Soap, I've used it for 6 years and love it).

  128. Amber

I love homemade soap and cleaning supplies in general. I love the gentle yet clean smell of non-industrial cleaners. At some point I plan to make my own laundry soap, but for now, I really dig the Rockin' Green detergent. Cant wait to try this brand.

  129. Rachel

i've actually never bought hand made cleaning supplies, but my mom only buys organic/natural detergent. i think handmade would be wonderful to have since its probably the most gentle, especially for anyone who is allergen prone, great way to avoid chemicals :)

  130. vel

Ideally, homemade would be perfect, however, with time constraints, store-bought is more convenient. But Homemade that is store-bought, PERFECT!

  131. Kat

I like using vinegar, borax and baking soda in cleaning and laundry. However I do use store bought cleaners also. I'm liking Mrs. Meyers alot – it smells so good!

  132. Michelle

Prefer handmade but have never tried to make it. This would be an awesome intro to handmade soap. Thanks for the generous giveaway!

  133. Dana

Handmade, when I have the time! Although Method and Mrs. Meyers are pretty amazing…

  134. Bethany

right now I use store bought cleaning supplies because, well, I'm lazy. haha, I'm working a lot and cleaning a lot so it seems easier/faster, but I've decided that I'd really like to try using homemade stuff to cut down on the chemicals so I'm slowly mixing them in and my goal is to be all switched over by christmas : )

  135. wanda

I like to think I use homemade…until I look in my cabinet and see all the prepackaged cleaning products! Wonder why I don't just make the shift. Vinegar and water can clean so many things…that is my go to basic. Thanks for the give-a-way!

  136. Julie

I've never used homemade, but I'd love to try it.

  137. AliceH

I've only ever used store bought cleaners – never handmade. I would love to try though! Thanks!

  138. TamraK

While I like the idea of homemade, I actually use store bought. It's cheaper and easier.

  139. Erin

Homemade all the way…it's super cheap, easy, and natural. Vinegar works wonders!

  140. amymarie

i have made my own cleaning products before but since i tend to forgo recipes at times they never really work they want i want them too… so this would be an awesome opportunity to try homemade done right! ;o)

  141. Amanda

I use store bought because I'm lazy but I would prefer to use homemade.

  142. Katie

I prefer store-bought for the convenience because I'm lazy, but I'd prefer homemade if someone came over and did it for me!

  143. matthew

i wish i had the energy to make my own, so Mrs Meyers it is for me

  144. Anna B

I haven't tried handmade cleaning stuff, really, but this stuff looks awesome!

  145. Lynne Bellaire

I use mainly vinegar and baking soda but sometimes buy eco-friendly products. I just read a review on Vintage Indie Magazine about Mrs. Jones Soapbox and would love to win a product to try.

  146. Ali

I prefer homemade cleaning products. You can clean well with a few simple items and save waste in packaging and keep harsh chemicals from the Earth.

  147. Jenny

For the most part, I use store bought cleaning supplies, but I'm always interested in learning about natural and eco friendly cleaning solutions. I'm going to be moving to a new home in a few weeks, so switching out my old cleaning products for natural, homemade ones would be such a great way to embrace and celebrate this big change.

  148. Kelly T

I like handmade because they do not have all those chemicals.

  149. I have always used store bought, but lately have found some good recipes that I want to try soon

  150. I would love to win this as just last weekend I made my first ever batch of homemade laundry detergent. I am convinced it is way better than store bought, but this stuff looks awesome, and I'd love to try it.

  151. Jennifer

Handmade products are best! Even better when they are from a local business! I have also found that handmade products smell better, which leave a more pleasant fragrance that lingers long after you clean :)

  152. marika

Store bought – because I'm too lazy to make my own. Even though I really like the idea of making my own.

  153. Aruguletta

My answer is store bought. I don't feel bad about it either! There are so many fantastic soaps out there, a whole world of cleaning products to explore. I'm an amateur, I'll leave it up to the professionals.

  154. Leanne

I guess I'm sort of like Sandra Lee – 'semi-homemade' I have this mix that I make up for a laundry spot treater that has vinegar, ammonia and WISK! – and I have this wonderful cleaning concentrate that smells like honeydew melon – I mix it up and put it in a spray bottle and it makes a lovely all purpose cleaner

  155. Lacey Jones

I have always purchased brand name detergents and cleaners, because that is what I grew up with. Plus, I did a science experiment in 8th grade on detergents and fabrics (GAIN was the winner- surprisingly), so I went with what was tested…literally :) I started paying more attention to hand made and organic cleaners and detergents when my friends started having babies. Now that I am about to be at that point in my life, I am considering switching. Isn't it strange but good that we finally decide to change our lifestyle to be completely healthy and organic when we become responsible for ourselves AND a little precious being? Anyway, since I am a Mrs. Jones, I would love to win a Mrs. Jones product! Pick Me!

  156. Rachael

I have only used store bought detergent because honestly I have never thought of using one that is handmade. I would love to try it!

  157. Celeste

We use homemade cleaning products but have not yet switched to homemade laundry products. I have made my own laundry soap once and will likely try again in the future. The Mrs. Jones' jar and scoop are so cute!

  158. Jamie

Homemade Homemade Homemade! I tried making my own last month and it was a diaster. I am excited to try hers!

  159. I love handmade cleaning products. I'm in the process of slowly switching over all that we have to handmade and organic cleaners. With a curious dog who'll lick anyhting and plans to start a family soon, I'm looking for the safest things possible to have in our house.

  160. mary

I'm an amateur to making any home cleaning to actually involves mixing, but baking soda seems to be the cure all that I turn to—otherwise, storebought 7th generation is what we try to stick to. This would be awesome to try, and I love the air-tight jar it comes in, can definitely re-purpose that puppy when you finish with the detergent!

  161. Stephanie

I actually make my own laundry soap, but would love to try this. It has more ingredients in it that sound lovely. And my last name used to be Jones!

  162. Right now I prefer store bought cleaning supplies just because my lack of space but once I own a home I plan on going handmade

  163. ashley k

i prefer storebought, but only by default!! i've never really considered making my own! i stick with my favorites: mrs. meyers, method, and j.r. watkins. i would LOVE to try this amazing looking detergent!

  164. I use both! I have a few home made cleaning formulas that I like, but I use Mrs. Meyers and Method for things that I haven't found suitable home made replacements for. I hope to switch over to completely hand made eventually, though.

  165. A fellow Emily

I use a mix of handmade and store bought. I typically use store bought favorites from growing up until I can find a handmade that does the job well – and then I convert and never go back!

  166. I love handmade!
There's little time to actually DIY cleaning products so count me in! ;) Thanks, Emily!

  167. Erin

I've been a tide girl for quite some time but I would love to try a homemade detergent. Even if I don't win I will have to look into Mrs. Jones Soapbox

  168. Shifra

I use store bought, too busy or lazy and the smell of vinegar all over my house drives me nuts. But in a perfect world of course I would rather use homemade! (preferably if someone else homemakes it, though :)

  169. ashley schrimpf

I'm a store bought girl only because I haven't had the time (am to lazy) to find recipes to make my own. I would love to try some good homemade products though!

  170. Allison

I like a mix–homemade glass cleaner, tub n' sink cleaner, but store bought toilet cleaner and countertop spray cause Mrs. Meyer's smells so niiiice.

  171. Megan H

I've always used store bought cleaners because a) it's easier, and b) I'm kind of skeptical about how well homemade will work. But I'd like to be proven wrong. :)

  172. Paula

Usually store bought, because it's easier and cheaper on a college student budget. But this would be a great opportunity to start trying homemade stuff out!

  173. using products that are good for me and my loved ones (pets included), good for the environment and are free of petrochemicals is key. pretty is as pretty does, dear.

  174. SaraE

Now that I have a child, I am much more aware of the chemicals I use. I love Mrs. Meyers and Method, but my favorite general cleaner is a simple mix of 50% vinegar and 50% water. Vinegar is a natural disinfectant – and it's safe enough to eat!

  175. Barb

I've never tried homemade cleaning products, I'm sure if I got off my lazy bum I would prefer them.

  176. Ash

I'm going to be honest…I use store bought cleaning supplies at the moment, but mostly because I have a lot on hand and hate to waste things. As soon as we begin to run out of them, though, I have a whole file full of homemade recipes that I can't wait to try! :)

  177. Kate

I try to buy the eco-friendly options for cleaning products but haven't ventured into DIYing it yet.

  178. I prefer homemade cleaning products for sure- mostly because I know what's in them and how they impact my family (2 small kiddos), animals, and the environment. This detergent looks wonderful!!
and p.s- your show is so super inspiring- I look forward to it every week!!! Keep up the great work!

  179. Maybe a week from now I'll answer differently. (I'm collecting supplies for making the first batch of my very own laundry detergent right now!) I've always loved my homemade all-purpose cleaner, but tend to be lazy and just purchase it from the store. Sad.

  180. sarah t.

I prefer a combination. When I need to clean something really icky (ahem, floors around litter box) I use store bought cleaners. My favorite is biokleen, they are all natural products so my little kittens will not be harmed. Since I am super busy I buy most cleaners, always natural ones. Otherwise I use baking when I can , I even mix it with my face wash.
Since adopting 2 kittens, I have been way more conscious of the chemicals in my house and I have eliminated everything that I think could harm them, which also creates a way more healthy space for me as well.

  181. Jennifer

I buy cleaners at the store, but try my best to purchase environmentally friendly products. Would love to try and make my own at some point.

  182. Megan

I've never used handmade because I'm not crafty but I do try to buy all natural cleaning supplies.

  183. Kylie

We use all homemade cleaning products with the exception of soaps (dish/laundry/Murphy's) and Method furniture polish. They are dirt-cheap, super safe, and leave only the smell of clean behind. Sometimes I'll even spritz the air in my house with vinegar as an air freshener. I promise I'm not crazy, it works!

  184. Rayna

    Awesome! Homeade dertergent…cool!!

  185. I love homemade, mostly because of safety and health reasons, but I can make the smells lovely and fresh and it's completely inexpensive!

  186. Diana Egan

I have not tried any handmade laundry soap ever. I buy whatever is on sale. Enlighten me!

  187. Meg Jewett

I love using handmade cleaning products and supplies. I'm always a bit nervous about my little girlies playing on surfaces or with things that have been cleaned with chemicals I can't even pronounce,.

  188. Irene

I prefer handmade cleaning supplies because its safer to assume one is not using chemicals :-)

  189. Meg Jewett

Second entry for posting your just for fun twee @mymegst… ;) What a great giveaway! Thanks!

  190. Dyana

I prefer using handmade/homemade cleaning products and bath products. There are too many chemicals or other ingredients in most store bought products which irritate my skin or make me ill. Headaches and nausea (from the scents), or breakouts and irritated skin are things I don't miss by using handmade products. Plus, I know exactly what goes in them, if I make them myself. There are few handmade products on the market that I get along with, and often they are too expensive for me. I am excited about trying out this laundry product, should I win it, since it says it is safe for sensitive skin, skin allergies and skin conditions.

  191. Katie R.

Now, I do love me some natural cleaning remedies but I must admit I am slightly addicted to one specific store brand because of it's nostalgic smell. My mom uses the same brand/scent and it always makes me feel at home! However, coconut/lavender/citrus and tea tree oils sounds just lovely! New house scent, eh?

  192. Stacey

I especially like thats its not only handmade, its handmade in the

  193. Keturah Bosarge

I prefer handmade soap over store-bought soap because I have pretty bad eczema on my hands and arms. The chemicals that are in store-bought soap make my skin much worse rather than helping!!Handmade soap is so much gentler on my skin because the ingredients are natural and not harmful to my already delicate skin. Anything that helps my skin not itch like crazy is heaven-sent to me!!

  194. Stephanie

I use some of each. I always have a spray bottle with 1/3 white vinegar, 2/3 water for regular cleaning, but nothing beats the adorable packaging (er, and the scrubbing power) of Bon Ami.

  195. Jade

I've always bought the eco-store bought variety, but I love the idea of a handmade soap, especially with lavender! I'd love to try this out!

  196. Lewaletzko

We love handmade but store bought is our reality.

  197. I would love to say handmade but I'm lazy and buy the store stuff. Hope I win! Thanks!

  198. Heather

I'd love to use homemade detergent, but for the sake of time I usually grab store-bought!

  199. Kate

I have never tried handmade detergent, but I love handmade soap for the fragrance and soft feel it leaves on your hands! It would be fun to try Mrs. Jones' soap!

  200. Cassidy

I buy natural cleaning products. Except when I'm juicing lemons, I use the used lemon halves to clean the kitchen before I throw them away. Just add a little baking soda for extra scrubbing power!

  201. JeanneW

I would prefer to purchase handmade but I'll generally gravitate towards what is most effective and cost conscious (but not necessarily the cheapest)

  202. kristen

I usually only like store bought, but we do make our own granite cleaner. it works really well.

  203. Darcy

Mostly store-bought, but I love to use brands like Method and Mrs. Meyers (?) as much as possible. Right now I'm using a laundry detergent by J.R. Watkins and it's fabulous….but I'm dying to try Soapbox now. Sounds amazing!

  204. I know this giveaway is closed (missed the boat!) but I just had to say that we LOVE homemade laundry soap in this casa! I can't imagine we'll ever go back to store bought. It's just too easy, awesome, and affordable. Here's our take on it:

Although I missed it, thanks for the giveaway, Emily!

  205. It is also the most effective and healthiest way to shed
    excess weight without depriving yourself.
Therefore coconut oil forms the basic ingredient of
various body care products such as soaps, lotions, creams, etc.

The most natural moisturizing ingredient out there is plain
