Emily Henderson

Design Philosophy

I believe a room is soulless without something that is vintage or antique. I believe an object or piece of furniture should be either functional, beautiful, or sentimental and if can be all three then that is design magic. I believe that comfort comes first, but style is a close second. I believe a home should look like the person that inhabits it, not a catalog, not what you think others would like — but really, truly like you. I believe that a perfect house is like a perfect person; no one really wants to be around them and everyone secretly hates them. Be the weird person. Be the interesting person, the person that sometimes says inappropriate things or laughs too loud at jokes, and have your home reflect who you are.

MEET THE TEAM

Emily

Creative Director

I’m Oregon bred, New York trained and reluctantly adopted by L.A. I’m a home style expert who spends time designing, styling, art directing, writing, hosting TV shows, running and writing this blog, and trying to keep my son (and soon to be daughter) normal in Hollywood. I’m currently Target’s Home Spokesperson and kinda loving every single second of trying to figure out the world of new media.

Ginny

Interior Design Director

Imported from England with a background in commercial retail interior design, she spends most of her day juggling clients and sourcing unique pieces of furniture whilst keeping one eye on everything else going on in the studio. Known for her random Britishisms, this Anglophile is a lover of knitting, a collector of painted seascapes and if she's not throwing in the pottery studio she can often be found futzing around her house with two puppies in tow.

Brady

Editorial Director

An overconsumer of design, Dr. Pepper and any form of sweets, Brady keeps things lively both in his appetite and in his work. He can often been found hunting in dumpsters, sifting through thrift stores, or haggling for his newest find at the flea market. He spends his days at the studio managing the blog, assisting with design projects, and making sure that the estrogen isn't running too thick at the EHD studio.

Sara

Social Media Director

Sara is a professional dreamer, part-time napper, and admitted Instagram junky. As the most recent addition to the team, she does her best to keep everyone organized and alive. When she’s not labeling folders or back-linking blog posts, she spends time on creative and ridiculous endeavors. This cat enthusiast delights in uniting her quick-typing fingers, whip like whit, and boundless imagination to take on any task that comes her way.
